There were posts about it yesterday. I think the AppleInsider speculation is MacBook Pros (14" & 16"), AirPods, and then likely MacOS.

I agree with Katy and have been buying the dip. Hate to sound conspiratorial but... Is it just coincidental these kinds of rumors are only released during monthly option expiration weeks?

The more conspiratorial theory is to get this in before the product announcement on the 18th, and earnings on the 28th. OTOH, is it just a rumor? AAPL gets hit with this often, what seems like annually. But is that just the way it works, even if there wasn't an industry wide chip shortage, where Apple brackets their expected and bullish cases? If expected was at 70M, and bullish at 80M, then adding on some wiggle room above that makes sense. It would be great to have when there is the demand, but like some analysts are saying, it doesn't matter much for the average consumer. If they have to wait a couple extra weeks to get their new iPhone, for most it doesn't matter. The exception would be for those where their old iPhone dies, or other time sensitive situation, which might force them to do something else like buy a lower end iPhone or even a competitor. It's interesting to think of how a supply constraint affects distribution. Apple needs to keep 3rd party vendors happy, but how happy is that? Do the percentages change, say with Apple going from selling 40% direct to selling 50% direct? If it changes, that should affect Apple's take on the ASP. But really, as long as Apple can meet demand at some point in the next quarter or two, it shouldn't affect net sales numbers. And with Apple's size and resources, I'm sure they are working on any bottlenecks and trying to find solutions. But having some shared sacrifice, perceived or actual, helps a little on keeping the "big bully" monopolistic feelings at bay....maybe.
