I had Some sushi tonight and my fortune cookie just said: "you may have sudden and surprising opportunities." Hopefully an opportunity to start making some money again.

Haha....beat u to it with my post in the intraday. You know, some of these bozos disguised as analysts need a good old fashioned flogging, as shaming them on the internet just isn't enough of a deterrent.

(In case anyone was wondering about the link, there's an article out there proclaiming iPad mini sales will drop 20 to 30% YOY. Yeah...I can see at least two issues with that statement.)

We've all said it many times in many ways...but TC and PO need to bring their A+ games next week. There is an excellent story underpinning whatever the numbers and guidance may turn out to be. Time to be clear, concise, excited, and maybe just a little pissed off.
Make some dramatic statements. Tie it all together. Don't just mention "the North Star", put a shine on it.....talk about the cash. Talk about the market share gains. Disparage the opposition..nicely....take on the FUD and accept that the bloom seems off the rose.
Then reveal why the flower hasn't even truly bloomed yet.
Bring it on!!

Bing it on... ;D Well said. Drama would be nice, assisted with slides, at a minimum. And I'm not suggesting pics of North Stars and lasers. Edit: Forgot my pic..

I couldn't agree with you more. But with their track record of disappointing Wall Street, I don't think they have any of what you list in them. As such, I will be appropriately hedged with disaster insurance in the form of bear put spreads. I simply refuse to get burned by Tc and PO again. I hope I'm closing them on Wednesday for a small to medium sized loss.

I gotta think that with this kind of pricing, the slingshot is finally primed for the other direction.

P.S. My stink order to buy shares triggered @ 386 today. Here's to your stink bid, I am still on the sidelines, waiting on direction looking at buying up to 100 more shares. Call me chicken but I feel like a deer in the headlights. Rick, consider scaling (dollar-cost averaging) into your additional position versus taking the whole thing at once. Takes the sting off potentially bad timing. You could have four bullets of 25 shares, or five bullets of 20 shares, or ten bullets of 10 shares?

Still thinking within 10% or so of the bottom. The absurdity of this drop has reached an all new high for me. As much as EW and other technical analysis said the mid 300s were possible after the earnings dip, it's still hard to wrap my head around it. The magnitude and rapidity of selling this week was insane, no matter what was driving it.
I'm not a huge fan of fundamentals any more, but when a company is valued stupid low like this, it'll get me looking. So here's to things looking up soon.

Last weeks selling due to ? 1. Analysts lowered FQ3 2013 estimates (June quarter) this week and delivered the news to clients. tech.fortune.cnn.com/2013/04/20/apple-revenue-eps-guidance/2. Travis Lewis (of AAPLPAIN fame) suggested that Gold crash precipitated margin calls, which was funded by selling AAPL that led to AAPL margin calls. Interesting.

The thing is, Apple can change the perception in a heartbeat...boom.
Suppose on Tuesday they announced earnings of $11.00/share, with growth (YOY of course...but spelled out clearly) in all products save iPods
Then they give nice guidance for June....just nice.....using Oppy's new this is what we will do sign language .
Then TC says "we own xxx% of the market in phones and tablets. We are taking aggressive steps across several form factors and price points to grow that share. Worldwide. You will hear much more about this soon. Nothing is off the table for what customers want in a device. We will use our enormous resources and supply chains to make this happen. In fact, we are....."
Then the Board doubles the dividend
Then the Board announces a new share buyback program has been approved ( no details....fine)
Boom. Apple becomes the darling of growth and value investors.

Growth investors are interested in earnings growth, not unit growth. Earnings are not growing. finance.yahoo.com/q/ae?s=AAPL+Analyst+Estimates
