This does not sound good at all. "Surprising Report Surfaces Claiming Sharp has Dropped Apple" Oh great googly moogly, I hope it is either a rumor gone amock or Apple has other technology already developed.

It's the space between 419 and here that everyone (including me) wants to forget. Hello, Ms. IPad. How is everybody doing? One look at the Daily chart shows the MACD has gotten past its peak, and the roller coaster is now ready to start flying downhill. Tomorrow we might get pinned - 460, or knows - and I'm ready for a re-trace before further uphill. WE HAVE MISSED YOU!!!!!!!!!! WELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't worry too much, Rick. The KOREAN article states at the bottom: "However, on the flipside, the Japanese website called Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun (via AppleInsider) reported yesterday that Sharp would be producing the displays for the next iPhone. Whether today's revelations are restricted to larger display panels starting at the 11.6" size as noted in the report is unknown at this time." Apple has contracts with suppliers that can't just be ended because Sammy wants in, right?!

Where have you been rutgers?! Haven't heard from you in a long time! Hi, Phoebes. I've been busy with part-time consulting work, which started in late November and wrapped up in late-March. From end of January to mid-March, I was going 7 days a week to pull it together. It involved working with a group of engineers from Japan and China, which might eventually lead to some work there. Very few folks are building biotech plants in the US, and I've never seen Jersey this dead, when it used to be the "medicine cabinet of the US" about 30 years ago. The action appears to be in the Pacific Rim these days. It's been a tough few months, but looks like AAPL has turned it around. We should get a better handle on this once we put this re-trace behind us and break the 100-day. But the weekly chart is looking the best since September, and all the big guys are buying, which is good.

Sammy plays dirty, doctoring the hardball that would make Gaylord Perry blush. I am concerned about Samsung's 3% investment in Sharp, signaling that it's strategically targeting suppliers to disrupt Apple's supply chain. I don't see any other purpose behind Sammy's investment in Sharp.

I've subscribed to Fitzstocks (David Patrick), and he is very good with his picks. All technicals, and he is a great teacher. I've been buying stuff without even knowing who some of these companies are. His slogan is "Trade price", which I think I may have heard from you on this board a few times.

Just wanted to give a shout out to the absolutely wonderful iPhone camera commercial. Have seen it dozens of times and it really captures the spirit of the fun, the beauty, the silliness, and everything in between. Love it.

Apple has contracts with suppliers that can't just be ended because Sammy wants in, right?! Yes I read that Appleinsider article, but I was born to worry. I can't imagine any company, especially a Japanese company, would trust Samsung, who is known to play dirty, several of their upper management should be in jail for corruption. And there is the investment in Sharp that Mercel brought up. Much of Japan's industry both autos and electronics has been usurped by Korean companies. My inner bull was hoping a large portion of Apple's CapEx was in equipment for Sharp to build IGZO displays. May my inner bull be right.

Apple is in the market with 50 billion to spend. Shorts beware...

I can't wait for the latest iPhone with a better camera.

I think Apple should toss CM a bone and make some concession to get a deal, but no way should they give in and make a significantly cheaper phone. It's not consistent with their market strategy. Perhaps a hi quality plastic model, cut a few corners to save a few bucks on the manufacturing costs and give CM a sweet deal on it. Maybe just a little less expensive then the 4S to pacify CM, but still "premium" compared to the cheap chinese smartphones. Still keep the profit margin reasonable.

China Mobile + cheaper iPhone = HUGE CATALYST Cheap phone already here. 4S It will be a two year old iPhone around the time CM signs up Apple. Don't you think Apple can serve CM better than this? It's worse than throwing them a bone. Perception is important, especially in China.

Perception is important, especially in China. Given they could not make enough 4s in the first quarter and in the 2nd half of the phones sold were 4 and 4S, I think there is still life in the 4S. Once the 5 is half price it will make the cheaper lineup perfect. China Mobile will get the iPhone period. That will be good enough to stop the bleeding for them.

My argument would be that the same arguments were made (by myself, I might add) against a theoretical iPad mini. I think we would agree that the iPad mini is neither cheap nor low margin. I'm fine with lowering margins even further if it gives access to China Mobile's base of almost a quarter of a billion customers.
