What is the opposite of "whhheeeee"? "eeehhhhhwwwwwww" (quite literally). Similar to the response I received when asking young ladies to dance.

I know many here dislike the algorithms trading AAPL but had anyone considered joining THEMUsing an algorithm seems like a good plan, I just don't have the time to devote at this time.

By the way - Greenlight Capital (Einhorn) raised their stake in AAPL but NOT ONE business news outlet mentioned it. But total institutional ownership has dropped yet again. And you all wonder why I am now bearish. WS won't be back until they start seeing eps growth. I don't see that until 1stFQ2014. Anyone buying in the next 12 months will get a deal of a lifetime. It will pay off well in 10 years.

Hmmmm, for the past five out of eight years, AAPL has posted the closing high for the month during the first week of May. So far this month, the high has been $463.84 on May 8th. So, for government work, this is close of enough. The Low for the month for the same STATS has been post expiry. Me thinks this is gonna go down MORE, how much? Don't read balls yet. Perhaps the FIBS here can give a better guess. The high for June is generally the first week also. So, it looks like a see-saw for a time until the right fuel mixture hits the rocket. I know nothing, so don't follow me!

Should have sold two weeks ago and last week post ex dividend date. It is hard to pick short term tops and bottoms, but I am comfortable with my average of 8.90 on those calls. Now will get a big check tomorrow.

I seem to remember something about a rocket in connection with AAPL, but that was in a far away land, and what seems like generations ago.

This is the AAPL stock buy back amount in dollars for the last 2 quarters (with the red box around it). Doesn't give share price purchased at, though. I'll keep hunting for that.

Spongie, until recently, you always used to say that you steered clear of options 1) because you didn't understand them; 2) because your timing sucked. I respectfully submit for your consideration: please stick with shares.
IMHO, if you are going to do options, you really, REALLY need a solid knowledge of technicals, else you're banking on "luck" -- TA may not prevent you from getting your clock cleaned (always an inescapable possibility), but *should* prevent you from buying tops, which marginally tips the odds in your favor.

I agree. Do follow TA from here and other sources. I am playing with small % of overall portfolio and don't plan on doing this type of swing trading. After the next run up I will simply roll them into Jan15 calls and patiently wait.

Ski jump pattern? TA experts?

Ski jump pattern? TA experts? It's called the Einhorn, I think. I suspect that was when news leaked that he'd increased his stake. I could be wrong, though. Great Steve Martin quote.

Ski jump pattern? TA experts? Ho hum oversold bounce. My guess is we'll see sub-422 before the end of the week. Hopefully bounce around 419. Bear or bull, it should be a tradable bounce good for at least 3%. If bear, we'll see 400 at the minimum. If bull, we will top 469.

Doc That is a very wide range. Unfortunatly, I think the short-term sentiment is negative again.

It's kind of confusing the way I wrote it.
Oversold bounce > 415-419 > above 469 (bull)/436-447 then sub 400 (bear)

I do not like the look of this at all. But hopefully we gather composure in the 419-424 range. +1 Recapture the daily SMA-20 tomorrow, or else...

At this point, if I had to guess, I'd go with "decent bounce over the SMA-20" just for AAPL to temporarily regain even neutral composure. Maybe a rejection of new countertrend lows and ending solidly in the green (y'know, Redler's fave trade) as a "best case" scenario.
