A new day, not much news until WWDC. Will AAPL continue to trade in mid channel?

Mercel! Dude! I know you like smart bulbs. Whatcha think about smart locks like August? Gotta say, THAT seems pretty cool.
Back OT, there's a big-time pennant forming IMHO. Staying "in bounds" would be no bad thing.

With the entry level iPod updated today, the only apple iOS devices left with the 3.5" screens and old 30-pin connector is the iPhone 4 & 4S.
The new $229 entry level iPod touch now has a better SoC & screen than the iPhone 4 & 4S.
It might be a bit too early to say this, but I'm calling it now: Both the iPhone 4 & iPhone 4S are not long for this world - both will be end of lined come September.

I won't be surprised if that happens. Of course the media will create a shitstorm out of it. But I don't think the public will mind.

Especially if the iPhone 5 becomes the budget iPhone.

It appears to me the entire Apple online site has been remodeled.

The 6 month battery cycle is a downer. The tractor beam of weeklies is muting our hoped-for anticipation "rally" into WWDC. Just curious, do the institutions serve free drinks to the weekly players?

It might be a bit too early to say this, but I'm calling it now: Both the iPhone 4 & iPhone 4S are not long for this world - both will be end of lined come September. EOZL for the 4 is a no brainer. For the 4S I see it being continued but with the lightning connector. I can also see a $50 drop in ASP. This with Samsung's apparent pullback from 5" screens would be a killer. If rumors of Pegatron coming online are accurate, then I don't think it will be for a smaller/less expensive iPhone model, as much as it will be for increased production capacity. If iPhone margins are coming down my take is that Apple is buying component inventory, which will constrain competition in two ways: they can't get it, and, if they can its going to cost more. This will be the death knell for a lot of thin margin handset manufacturers.

Just curious, do the institutions serve free drinks to the weekly players? Its better than that. The free drinks are 30 yo Glenfiddich single malt scotch, and we get to keep the commemorative glasses.

This will be the death knell for a lot of thin margin handset manufacturers. There was a story yesterday that HTC complained in court that Samsung had withheld screen supply and they had to redesign their phones. Supply of components for the high end phones have been an issue for Apple for a long time. Changing the 4S to a new plug sounds like a good idea with a drop in price and may explain the decrease in future margin.

Back OT, there's a big-time pennant forming IMHO. Staying "in bounds" would be no bad thing. Yep, I commented on that a couple days ago. At the time I thought it strange that no one else was commenting on it.

Anybody notice that the 20 SMA is only $5.xx (1.1%) below the 100 SMA? That's less than the average intraday trading range.
Crossing next week?

From yesterday's intraday thread:
OI data released today has wiped out preliminary indicators of the current run ending next week.
I need 4 consecutive days minimum, 5 is much better, of a pending trend reversal. We are now to close to next week's activity for a reversal to be confirmed.

"If rumors of Pegatron coming online are accurate, then I don't think it will be for a smaller/less expensive iPhone model..."
"Pegatron Corp. named after the flying horse Pegasus, will be the primary assembler of a low-cost iPhone expected to be offered later this year." If Gruber posts it without comment, I think there may be something to the rumor of 'low-cost iPhone', and I don't think they are talking about the 4s. Maybe the 4s gets upgraded, as you say, but I think new lower end models are clearly coming.
Freshen up the low end. Cheaper doesn't have to be dated design, not if you have an army of great designers.

A lot of people already have bought 450 June calls, 17K contracts vs. 10K puts.

I mentioned that yesterday. Or at least intended to. 100 day is at 449.57 currently. Let's see if we can crack it here. Briefly broke through the 100 day...to the upside. Last time that happened was May 7th when MACD hist was already at a peak and it only closed above it one day. 8 and 20 day MA's were also much further away. This setup looks better to me with 8/20/100 MA's all converging and daily MACD h just crossing over. Be interesting to see if pain range shifts from 440-444.99 up to 445-449.99 tonight.

The current iPod touch may have shown the way.
4S with current Retina Display and a Lightning connector? The new cheap iPhone? It just might happen.

I might buy some more AAPL bull call spreads near the end of the day. I have an open order on TSLA calls 125/130 @ 0.70 if I can get filled at that price would be nice. This has been a very good trading week for me
