Well, I put on some hedges near HOD, and then -- remains to be seen how smart or idiotic this was -- I took almost all of them off into the mudslide finish into 450.

Seeing AAPL down only a little to close near its highest OI call wall, while witnessing terrible broad market performance = positive day!

One lousy day vs. still-solid technicals. I guess we'll see how the markets handle China's PMI number, since that's the biggest market-mover I'm aware of in the immediate future.
The SPY potential H&S doesn't bother me...unless of course the SPY power-bounces on Monday and burns my hedge for the millionth time.

I'd rather invest on the direction and velocity of your exalts rather than AAPL. huh??? I'm amused that both you and Sponge have added around 40 exalts in the last 24 hours. If only AAPL moved like that...

I think the buy back sets a floor of 440 and slowly melts us up. I also think it will set us up for quick moves upward in 12-24months when there may be less shares floating. I think we will close above 453 and I will call it a good short week. Up week over week is still good in my book. I'd rather invest on the direction and velocity of your exalts rather than AAPL. Where can I find open interest numbers on the options for those?

SPY crashed 1.6% after being near-even most of the day. No stock in my watch list fully resisted the pull, it was more a function of each stock's relative strength. Yep, a total coincidence AAPL popped for almost 2 days, then tanked below the top call wall right before close, then bobbed right back up over 450 after close. Market forces at work, nothing to see here. JD, your (fully justified) cynicism always makes me smile. Indeed, nothing to see here. Someday, I'll get over feeling that my AAPL shares are but a pawn in some larger plan, but I can't see that day being any time soon. C'mon O Temple of Innovation, give us something at WWDC that shakes up the EO's even just a little bit.

Me, I'll just be like the ref presiding over the jump ball.

Don't hate me for being so loved. My smite enemies have been defeated. Never did care about the exalts. Even with 0 I put my money where my mouth is and will be a long term bull on Apple. Short term bear as I see the year ending at 525.

525 by end of year is higher than 450. How is that "bearish"? Maybe "less bullish".

525 by end of year is higher than 450. How is that "bearish"? Maybe "less bullish". It's not bearish at all. 16.7% gain to finish the year is bullish.

I sept last year I saw $1200 by Dec. changed to $800 in Dec and then $600 in April. Since then I now see 525. We could go up to 575 but still see us back down. It is bearish because YOY it will be flat. I don't care about the price today. So I compare to YOY.

You should care about price today, because that's the only thing that matters...why would you be buying calls this week if you're bearish? It doesn't matter what we were in January, it matters where we are now and where we'll be in the future. So if you're seeing $525 in 6 months, that would seem bullish to me.

Unless you don't buy dips or trade, I'd think you'd care about price.
If I had conviction AAPL would hit 525 I'd have something longer-term on the table already.
