keynote was pretty good overall ... surprised that CF presented what should have been for JI but no matter
loved iOS 7 ... for me the top 3 are the new UI, control center (or is that centre?) and new multitasking ... finally no need for JB and the hit to battery
as for AAPL, well i can't say i'm surprised ... someone mentioned friday about EO's selling calls into WWDC ... they've gotta make their money somehow ... at least aapl is recovering from lows into the close ... good luck all

Great presentation. I was hoping for AppleTV SDK, and also MBP's to replace my aging 15". Ah well. It'll all come soon enough. I love the emphasis on California. Love the Mac Pro design, and it's US build. . Love the new OS10 naming direction. Love the new look and function of iOS. I don't care at all about short-term WS reaction. The marathon continues. The road ahead is more clear. Personal sentiment-Bullish. Agree 100%. Can't wait for iOS 7 - what a difference! A great bump in style, functionality and use of screen real estate. Feels like we just leap-frogged Android in many ways...

Here comes red. This crazy pattern never changes. Gregg you may get that 437. I did, but I had changed strategies and went with June $450/$455 at $1.25. Strangely did not get filled until AAPL got back up to $438.38. Was I that far down in the queue? BTW, Max Pain for next week is $465.00.

Wondering whether I can exercise the self-control not to download the iOS 7 beta onto my iPhone. Why torture yourself needlessly? It's three long months until September. You know you'll break down and put iOS7 beta onto your iPhone before September anyways, might as well do it now and get it over with ;D

BTW, Max Pain for next week is $465.00. be on the lookout to see how it adjusts as this week goes along. i've had a june spread for a while and the max pain has been dropping steadily. some data points from tracking it- 500 on april1, 495 on april12, 475 end of may, and 465 now.

Just a thought...with this drastically different icon design philosophy, 3rd party apps are going to look way out of place compared to the stock apps. Generally developers have designed their app icons to fit the aesthetic of iOS and Apple's icons. I guess there will many refreshes of icons upcoming. Hopefully having a few months before release will allow many developers to refresh their icons before the launch, but there is going to be significant inconsistency for a while depending on what apps people have.

The recently updated design aesthetic of the Yahoo weather app, with its simplified UI and translucent layers has a lot in common with iOS 7...

The damn feed keeps crapping out. Missed almost the entire radio presentation. Same here. I thought it was Comcast's internet feed (I blame them for everything).

Activation lock is awesome It would appear that Apple's was working on a kill switch before the politicians even thought about it. I like that Find my iPhone continues to work after the device has been de-activated.

I'm blown away by today's event. WS is showing how really clueless they are. they care about hardware so when hardware isn't announced or hinted, they sell. we should have caught on by now to play the predictable nothing-new-selloff, but we hope for the same big announcement just as well. I did!

I'm not too enamoured with the digs at Forstall/skeumorphism. Poking a little fun at yourself is ok, but it's not good to basically trash (albeit in an amusing way) a design philosophy that has been around for years and has been used (and generally well-received) by hundreds of millions of people. Apple is supposed to represent the pinnacle of design - have they been screwing up all this time? I'd rather bring in the new while acknowledging the huge success of the predecessor.
Regarding Forstall, we should not forget (nor should Apple) that he was responsible more than anyone for the whole 3rd party app ecosystem. That alone is far more important than a few design errors. If CF was trashing Forstall with his comments, I think it's a little juvenile and in poor taste.

Just watched parts of it. It is becoming more clear that Apple is slowly teaching how to make best use of the iOS. There is much more they can add, but they are giving it to us slowly.
The video at the beginning is really sends the message about simplicity. As exciting as the features are in the OS and iOS, I still look forward to more amazing features down the road.
I would have liked to see movies in the photo stream. I did not see it. I suspect technology is not there yet.
However I think there are enough new changes to compel the 4 and 4S folks to upgrade to the 5S. So we will see long lines once again in Sept.

I think everybody was tired of the green felt - it was like the plastic covering grandma's nice couch. I didn't take it as an anti-Forstall assault. Apple doesn't air their garbage for all to see, that behind-the-scenes political stuff stays there. It was just time for a change...

Yup, and the best WWDC indicator of future company success: Woz was using his iPhone5 during the Keynote - not the six other Android phones in his pockets.

I'm sure most regulars here know I wouldn't vote for Al Gore, even for dog catcher, to get out of a burning phone booth; but I will admit, I liked seeing him grinning in the front row, like he was awaiting a rub down from a hot hotel masseuse with algae oil. It's called "giving a shit," people. Nice to see a board member getting into it.

Keep in mind that styles change, for example, homes built in the 70's had "conversation pits", in the 90's, most people filled them in and changed back to flat floors. Nobody was repudiating the previous design, they were just adjusting to current styles. Maybe in 6 years from now, skeuomorphism will make a comeback. Styles change much more rapidly today than they did 30 years ago, especially when it comes to electronics.

My post was in response to several other posts I've seen saying that Federighi's snarky comments were an indication of his dislike towards Forstall. I have no idea if its true or not, but if it is it's rather tacky considering how important Forstall was to Apple during the early years of iOS.

I am not sure if it is an automatic feature like photo stream but only works with shared. Meaning one must initiate the video upload. What I meant by technology, was the ability to automatically upload videos in the background without killing your battery on cellular network. So need faster LTE and better battery life.
