That is if they can make enough. Apple made a mistake by trying to ramp up the new iMac during the fall and could not ship enough. Will the same happen this year with new ipad and iphones? I preferred their earlier schedule: iPad in March, iPhone in June. Funny You say that. Please watch the video on the CNBC app in relationships to Apple and the supply chain. They interview an Analyst who claims that Apple is making significant progress in making sure they have enough parts for the new iPhone 5s. Yes, if there's one thing you can believe it's Analysts on CNBC

$7ish EPS based on guidance for fiscal Q3? Maybe. Could be affected a bit by the buyback tho.
If you don't my compare YOY, you're not making valid comparisons.

If we can get back over 445 by Friday I will call it a victory. I'm quietly confident that we could reach 444 today. So much for that awful prediction. Instead the whole market took a bath.

In my opinion currently the best piece written on the design changes of iOS 7: mattgemmell.com/2013/06/12/ios-7/I see that Apple has now banished the name of the carriers from the navigation bar. An undocumented feature... load a panoramic photograph as wallpaper and then spin... the background image pans too. It will be interesting to see iOS 7 on the iPad and whether Apple tweak some aspects of the design. The grid of icons on the larger screen of the larger iPad always seem slightly odd to my eyes... too much space between each icon.

Small hedge against my AAPL common. Oct puts, I may sell as early as tomorrow. 50-day can only hold up so many times I guess.
433-435 above, 430 below.

AAPL 2013 Jun 22 500 C P 82,015 34,161
This is June 22 call/put data from the OCC site. Does any one care to offer an explanation or guess why there might be so many Calls & Puts at this strike?

The market's just too whippy right now. Aside from the TSLA butterflies (nothing doing there) and the hedge, I'm waiting for better setups.
NFLX under 206, AMZN under 270, SPY around the 50-day, stuff like that.

This stock is a POS plain and simple. Love the product, but hate the stock. Releasing all of their products at one time last year worked so good, are they setting up to do it again?
The stock market has won and continues to win. How many months in a row can a guy take? If I get out, I will be sure to do all a favor here and let you know as getting back in would be a good contrarian move at that time.
Not sure how other longs handle this, but I am really tiring. My fault, but tiring nonetheless.
End of rant, back to the stoopid line. Yes Gregg, I am an idiot and fully admit it. I guess you could call this therapy.
Is the bar open yet?

This half of the year is the "agony" side of AAPL ownership, sadly. Technical/OpEx tractor beams friggin' everywhere. Tough to trade anything other than tactically.
Apple doesn't follow WS "rules" so WS and a bunch of other traders/investors act accordingly. There's no "cover" of revenues/earnings growth just yet.

Just a WAG here... But I have been suspecting potentially multi-week rangebound consolidation similar to 2011 (Parts 1 & 2). First part of 2011: 320-365. Now, 420-465?

All in all, I _like_ what Apple MarCom's done, if they really had that much of an influence on iOS 7. www.macrumors.com/2013/06/12/jony-ive-put-apples-marketing-team-in-charge-of-ios-7-icon-design/I mean heck, after all, MarCom has a lot to do with the "face" of Apple anyway. It's not like they don't know design. Collaboration brought iOS to this point and collaboration should help iOS 7 gain coherence before the fall release. iPad, maybe 420-450? Anyway, daily BBs are hinting at range expansion (though they're still ridiculously narrow, just 24 points). We'll see where we go from here.

Does any one care to offer an explanation or guess why there might be so many Calls & Puts at this strike? i think the OI has shot up for that more recently. I have data saved on my comp only from april 1-12th, and back on apr 12th the 500 had only 5100 puts and 12.5k calls. so in the past 2 months, maybe some major shareholders were writing some covered calls at 500?

Why is the software development industry so male-dominated? Watching the WWDC video, the number of women in the audience seemed to be outnumbered ten to one. One possible insight might be the lopsided ratio of men to women on the autism spectrum. I mean this only half-jokingly (a good friend of mine has a sweet little son on the spectrum, so I am not without sensitivity on this). But seriously, so many coders seem to be half-Aspergersery or something. Maybe that's it. Plus, women are more social beings, and coding isn't exactly the most social career. Go watch The Social Network and see how social these guys are. Anyway, this price action makes me feel like a battered wife. And I say this as a call seller waiting for a pop. Can't buy back low if there is no high to sell. AAPL's trading is putting my sunny, optimistic cheer at serious risk.

I've never seen so much anti-AAPL/anti-Apple sentiment from the press.
Yes, yes, I know I shouldn't pay any attention to the validity of the published articles, they're almost all by Shills, but...
"...Apple looks like 100 pounds of poop in a zip lock bag"?
I mean, these Hedgehog Shills are just acting like a bunch of imature pre-adolecents in their analogies. Embarrasing (for them). Grow up will ya.
I'm suprised GOLDMAN hasn't weighed in with a nice negative comment today or maybe they have through their Shills.
Goldman's take on Apple is like Thurston Moore's take are on all things Indie Rock. As in "who cares".
All this means is that the Big Guys are getting ready to buy in big. I wouldn't be suprised to see a run up in the near term right after this.
It works kind of like this:
1. Before there are any official announcements from Apple, they put out these articles that say things like "this conference or product is 'make or break' for Apple". So that everybody gets all nervous.
2. Then they take every oppourtunity to trash Apple once it's released. (Never mind that the articles are getting it all wrong.)
3. Expectations of un-savvy small investors get dashed, and they sell.
4. The stock goes down and then the Big Boys buy back in.
HA! Their ways are starting to get old, this is becoming all too predictable.
And as Martha Stewart would say "this is good thing".
There couldn't be a better time to buy back in.
