I would add "that being said" there is not a cheaper stock out there right now than aapl.

Well I thought I would buy another 25 shares @ around 420. I think I will wait. I bought @ 415.50 Now you'll sell covered calls $10 above the high end of max pain, right. 😄

Big style points for Apple's lawyers' closing argument at the e-book-gate trial. Last three slides were an iPad running iBooks.

Thanks, Capt. - oh, wait. ;D Is this FINALLY the time for the indices to break below their 50-day averages? Heck if I know, that's why I didn't trade today.

I am curios. How many of you own shares and no options? How long have you owned the shares for? Picked up odd lots in 1997, 1998, 2002, 2010, 2011, and 2012, plus DRIP'ped shares. I kept on planning to write covered calls on them after 2010, but experiments with my smaller positions on some other issues made me nervous and fretful and I figured it wasn't worth the cognitive load/emotional roller coaster.

So only two of you have owned shares more then 7 years.
Curious as to when you plan selling them.

I am curios. How many of you own shares and no options? How long have you owned the shares for? Been buying every year since 05. Have not sold any. Last purchase was around $450 few months ago. Could have waited to pick up a few more but the hell with that game. Wont make much difference when aapl hits $1300 in 2015 ;D Thats only a rounded off 200% gain from here and just mirrors growth years past. If not well sure i could have done better not sleeping or always looking at the market elsewhere on other equities. Apparently its a game that some like to play. Chances are better than lottery but not for me. I come here seeking info and to be entertained. Thank You all.

Last time we closed at 417 we recovered to over 464 two weeks later. Lets see if history repeats itself starting next week.

Well I thought I would buy another 25 shares @ around 420. I think I will wait. I bought @ 415.50 No one gets the low and the high, but I believe you've bought near the low, FWIW. At a minimum, we all know there's far more upside than downside here. I still think the 10k of July 470 calls purchased recently is a bullish bet. And whatever the timing, when Apple starts to move, it will move strong. Accordingly to OI this evening, we'll be lucky to close $420 - $425 tomorrow unless we get a Red Poodle Reversal. Or something like that. ;D

At a minimum, we all know there's far more upside than downside here. We don't know that. And we've been saying that since the 580s. At some point the down will end, but maybe we'll never see 700 again.

Postscript: Today, DirecTV caved to unhappy HBO subscribers last night, as DirecTV nows supports HBO GO on Apple TV. It is SLICK.
Apple is building out its reinvention of TV one content provider at a time. I'm so close to unplugging satellite...

Especially possible if AAPL splits the stock, since it apparently has one 2-for-1 card it can play without seeking shareholder approval (it just needs to buy back 40 million more shares or so).

Why will it break sales records? Because of the dual LED flash? Or is it the 9% larger battery that will do it?
