You should look at Spreads: much "better" return than straight call. hahaha.......... channeling Lovey JohnG GOLD STAR!!!! Oh, wait...there's a button for that now! Showed a good friend spreads today and had him buy some Jan14s. Just needs $695 or so for a double vs. $1300+ for his common. Had him "fire" his broker awhile ago and dump a majority of his funds into AAPL :-)

(...) I'll buy more whichever direction it takes (in increments of ~$10 since I'm not very scientific in my methods and simply base it on past observations). Good luck to everyone Dollar-cost averaging is an excellent way to invest -- good job!!

Anybody's input is greatly appreciated.
I never bought options before and currently sit on 120 shares. I was thinking about selling 20 shares and buying January 2014 LEAPS with a strike point of 800 with that money. Is this too high for the strike point, or is this a relatively safe number? I think that AAPL will trade much higher then 800 by Jan 2014 but want to hear some experienced investors input.
A little apprehensive with venturing into options but I am playing with money I can afford to lose.
Thanks

In other words, if it were me, I would suggest Jan 2014 $700's. I own Jan 2014 $600's bought in Feb-April 2012 - and I own one Jan 2015 $800.

Not the place to post this ... but what the hell.
My daughter's 1 year old iPhone 4S would not turn on. She asked me for assistance. The phone has a smashed back glass, various crunches on the bezel, and the sleep/wake button does not even depress. I get furious at how kids treat cell phones, but I digress.
In disgust, I tell her to bring it to the Apple store. She does and lo and behold, they gave her a new one (we did not have Apple Care on it)! Unreal. Didn't care about the fact that the physical abuse was so traumatic. Gave her a new one anyway. Unbelievable customer service. Who would but any other phone.

Podboy. Id reccomend a a further back date for the option. April or June IMO just for a little more safety.

They are amazing sometimes. Did they give her a new 4S or a 5?

I feel reasonably well healed about now \ It's funny, one minute you are reading about all hell breaking loose in the world and people are predicting 20% drops in the DOW, S&P, etc. Then two days later, everything is great again. Thank god I am a seasoned veteran at all this BS FUD. My wife and I just look at each other and roll our eyes and wait these days, been there done that... Especially with AAPL Funny thing is, with the rise in IV, my naked Jan 14's are close to what they were worth when stock was at 701.00 the other day. Once we pass 687 I will be at same profit as I was at 701 the other day. Love IV inflation, its about damn time.

Try doing that with a Samsung @ your carrier.

Exception, not the rule I think.
I could try to bring in my iPhone 4 with mostly broken button (can't reliably use it to get to the Home screen, everything else about it is fine)...doubt I'll get a replacement. 'Course, it doesn't help that I have a 32GB model...

RIMM up 20% AH on earnings, lololol
Hope no one here made any earnings bets to the downside. When stock prices get that low, anything can happen.

At first I was skeptical, but with time I've become a fan. Redler's a technician but pretty accessible as they go - you can actually kinda learn things. He's also pretty balanced about the market - he doesn't trade opinions.

While watching a Samsung commercial, they shared playlists. Am I missing something or are the record labels not going to be happy about this.

They replaced it, told him it was his only Get out of Jail card! Apple is the best. Podboy: please looks into spreads, way less risk IMO. talk to iPad, she's knows how to spread them like nobody's business. :-) ha!

Tell us how you really feel, Zaky.
A graphic rant. Get it.
Zaky's kind of leaving out technicals, but on fundamentals, well, it IS why this board exists. Apple is Numero Uno and it's not even close.
