They don't have to be careless. There's real money on the table to those finding a way to pull back the curtain on unannounced Apple products. True that. A single worker puts one in his pants and walks out, bam. If workers can smuggle cigars out of state-owned factories in a police state like Cuba (they can), they can sneak out iPhone parts from a Taiwan factory. And the fact that it is a part, rather than an entire phone, lends credence to this, IMO. Plus, my law enforcement source says so. Did you happen to download from Officer Blart too?

AMZN is up $6 by losing money and spending $4B. Yeah, that makes sense...

Many buy it because people like the service, completely oblivious that Amazon is losing money and depleting its cash reserves at an alarming pace. Shame on the media for being so ignorant and silent about the risks of investing in this company. And WS wonders why the retail investor is cynical.

Ballmer on the surface mess.. mobile.theverge.com/2013/7/26/4559074/steve-ballmer-microsoft-townhall-surface-sales-windows-devices"We built a few more devices than we could sell," admitted Ballmer when referring to the slow Surface RT sales. Microsoft recently cut the price of its Surface RT tablets by 30 percent worldwide, and Ballmer and Turner reiterated in the internal meeting that the huge writedown was a price adjustment that was necessary to sell Surface RT devices. While Ballmer didn't provide a sneak peek at the next Surface, we're told he confirmed new devices are currently being tested with incremental improvements. We understand Microsoft has been testing Surface devices with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. A FEW???

I am going to believe this is real when I see it. I have a real hard time believing that any Apple supplier would be so careless to let all of these slip into the wild. That is the surest way to be booted as an Apple supplier. I think it is just as likely that all of this is just an elaborate hoax. My main man. Until Apple says so, they're just well done rumors. Nothing more.

Just read that the average Londoner apparently checks their smartphone 150 times during a waking day of 16 hours.
Has anyone here successfully managed to resist checking their Phone or iPad for a couple of days or more?

You know what my new pet hate is?
Mobile market quarterly survey reports (IDC, Survey analotics etc) being released only after Apple reports it's figures.
It means the survey firms don't have to make a prediction for the only large company that still actually reports units sales.
If they did release their quarterly reports before Apple announced, then their "researched" based figures would then actually be able to be judged for accuracy once apple reported.
However as it is they use confirmed actual data for apples shipments, and guesses for everyone else - so apples figures in their report gives the guesses for all the other vendors false legitimacy when positioned in a table.

Taiwanese workers in the Apple supply chain are not allowed to have pants. Its the next impending scandal. Keep your eyes on the NY Times for when this one breaks. My personal Asian supply chain informers and sources confirm that one. Are they allowed to wear underwear?

Dalrymple just 'noped' a September 6 iPhone launch.
But is it sooner of later?

I suspect they also use the single hard data point to then project sales for all the other manufacturers, based on their survey data. But as the discrepancy between estimated sales by manufacturers shows, their surveys are exposed to wide margins of error.

Without any new products, there is no chance for Apple to hit the upper end of it's guidance in the current quarter. I say there must be at least one new product, like the iPhone that's coming at the beginning of September.

Aapl is bull flagging on daily. Like its composure. We click past its earning highs and I think it tests that 465ish rejection line. Big battle prolly looms there. Pending some bad news over the weekend the indexes bounce beautifully the last two days....could be setting up for a great week next week. To the bar!

Strong close, considering OpEx! Very nice close. Looks like someone pulled a lever with 5 left, but failed. Hopefully this means sentiment is changing and we can be closer to 500 than 400 again soon...

I don't know how to interpret it, but volume is back to very low levels.
Lack of sellers or lack of buyers? Both?

Price action. Add in volume and the bias is BULLISH WITH CAUTION, IMHO.
The "caution" part being low volume. Of course, low volume makes it easier for one side to take control. 440 was an "easy" target for OpEx and a 7M volume day. And yet...

Volume isn't important. Look at the history of prior reversals.

I don't know how to interpret it, but volume is back to very low levels. Lack of sellers or lack of buyers? Both? Wonder if it has anything to do with the changing regulatory environment. The new management at the SEC seem to have backbone, is it possible some dodgy High Frequency Trading techniques have been wound down recently on Apple? Or were day traders making up a disproportionately large amount of the days volume while apple was volatile? and now that it's volatility has dropped, while a lot of other tech stocks have increased volatility, day traders have simply abandoned AAPL?
