New SEC management wha? I've noticed zero changes related to AAPL. Yeah, nothing announced regarding Apple trading. Was just wondering if some increased scrutiny around HFT techniques in general had caused a drop in AAPL volume over the last coupe of months.

Personally I think Apple's stock price going nowhere over the last 6 months has led to reduced volume... people aren't that interested in the stock anymore relative to others.
Ultimately, I believe that could end up being a good thing, leading to fewer Call walls for instance.

Uptick Rule? Nope, still not back, even if it was more of a psychological security blanket.

If you sat out due to volume you would have missed this huge bull run across all the s and p components

I'd say that when volume conditions look more like "new normal" than temporary conditions, price action tells pretty much the same story.
Low volume isn't new to AAPL, so until the sellers show up in force, things still look constructive.
I'd bet many bears are frozen by Apple's incredible speed in buying up shares. Apple could easily be done with 75% of its buyback by end of year. Maybe even 80-90%. Heheh, bears are currently up against a rather big Buy the Dip customer. ;D

I am going to believe this is real when I see it. I have a real hard time believing that any Apple supplier would be so careless to let all of these slip into the wild. That is the surest way to be booted as an Apple supplier. I think it is just as likely that all of this is just an elaborate hoax. iPhone 4 was leaked. iPhone 5 was leaked. iPad Mini was leaked. I'm 95% sure this is real.

I'm inclined to believe the leaks, unfortunate though they may be. Doesn't spoil the finished product surprise tho.
I'm at about 80-90% confidence level

AMZN reported earnings last night and volume was 9M shares, trading at 300+. GOOG's volume was 1.7M today. So, AAPL is still trading in good volume at 7M, relatively speaking, to other stocks; It's just below its 10M average. Maybe the lower volume is healthy...

Same would have applied to the 4, had a prototype not been left in a bar.

Mercel - AAPL is still very liquid in an absolute sense, just not as heavily traded as last year.
Lstream - Of course, the Mini had a mock-up chassis remarkably similar to the actual, and dimension chatter was pretty spot-on.
As for the 5, it might've been harder to get those. It's not just a back shell, there's two glass inlays on the back as well.
