China PMI is apparently impressive enough to _some_ people out there. SPX/NASDAQ futures look to be up about 50 basis points.
Will AAPL follow suit, or will pain contain?

From Wednesday intraday: Two good things: the WSJ rumor keeps people from running to the Nexus 7 until Apple announces just what it is doing later....and the lousy battery life reports chills the initial enthusiasm. Smart move Apple...if you leaked this. I dunno Red. What exactly about Nexus 7 Take 2 is so fundamentally different that it now has what it takes to be a big success and real threat to iPad? Or even Kindle Fire? Faster, better screen, same basic flavor of Android? Is it the iPad mini look? No, wait, it's gotta be the higher starting price, right? (Yes demonstrably more stuff for $30 more, but it's demonstrably not a $199 base price any longer either.) *Hilarious sidenote: No one really knows how many Nexus 7s were sold (in about 9 months of sales). The data point is "around 10%" of 70M Android tablet _activations_, based on a wild combination of Gartner data, IDC data and "Google internal estimates".

Nexus7 is a niche product right out of the gate in my opinion - no distribution, no marketing, hardly any Apps, no users. I'm kinda surprised it wasn't running chrome actually.

Mark Moskowitz at JPM on AAPL this morning - nothing groundbreaking but a positive comment nonetheless:Apple starts to turn the corner. The company’s gross margin held up and the Sep-Q guidance for gross margin exhibited no signs of deterioration. While new product launches later this year could impact gross margin, we think the bigger story stands to be the potential of a series of upward revisions to both revenue and EPS due to the launches. At a time when other tech companies could exhibit limited upside potential to numbers, we think Apple’s stocks could benefit from a rotational shift in investment dollars later this year. The next catalyst is the unveiling of the lower-priced iPhone in the September time frame.

Even Misek of Jeffries has begrudgingly raised his PT to $450 from $405.

Recently, Apple signed an agreement with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. to produce chips starting in 2014, for example, according to people familiar with the matter.

Great chart of WS forecasting and the S&P 500. This is what Misek is doing now, having failed miserably, first with RIM>BRBY and now with AAPL. A price target of $450. Why does CNBC need two clowns?

200 day descending. Will be into the high 460s in a week. Aapl continues its grind upwards. Looking for a break of the 460s and 200 day on deck in a month.

No volume at all. No one knows if the stock is peaking short term or resting for more up. Therefore no one is buying or selling.

What are the chances Obama will let the ITC iPhone ban stand? Not intended to be a political comment, but it would not surprise me if he did not do anything. Stock should move either way depending on the outcome.

Stock should move either way depending on the outcome. When it comes to Apple and patent-related issues, expect the worst and you'll usually be right. The US mega-verdict against Samsung was a pleasant surprise, but even that is going to get cut down severely as more and more of Apple's patents get invalidated by the farce that is the USPTO.

Y'know Mercel, I take a small amount of credit for the Pain Range subboard. If only so I can troll everyone on it that pain range is a hoax! Bwahaha! ;D Get your sarcasm detector checked regularly. It could save...you from being wrong in your assumptions.
