How is it that Apple is listed on the WSJ 'Selling on Strength' list??? Are they selling to just re buy, because the price hasn't moved all day??? Someone must be balancing it out!

Y'know Mercel, I take a small amount of credit for the Pain Range subboard. If only so I can troll everyone on it that pain range is a hoax! Bwahaha! ;D Get your sarcasm detector checked regularly. It could save...you from being wrong in your assumptions. Your subtlety has no depths.... ;D

Ultra, how to quantify other than, well, evidence of quant trades?

I wish they had 452.50 options. No conviction to make a butterfly bet for either 450 or 455...

I think it will pin down to 455. 455 has huge volume 27k.

Bulls made a little charge at the close! Nice!
OTOH, volume was crazy low. Not OpEx related at all either.

Moto X seems like a disappointment for people looking for a Nexus 4 replacement, as it has a price in the high-tier with specs seemingly mid-tier. Good news for iPhone 5C sales!

Why yes, wood back case panels are all we need to make Google's $12.5B investment in us pay off! What the hell?!

I'd short MMI if Google hadn't already bought it. Check out this promotional tweet:
"Yep. We've got wood. And 2K+ other combos. Designed by you. Assembled in the USA."

Mildly cautious of a temporary top here. But the technical stars are aligning. Still sticking to my prediction that we'll top 465 by the end of next week.

Temporary top? Could you elaborate a little?
Action looks very healthy/bullish except for the volume dropoff. But then that surge of buying at the close!

I actually think this phone is a good swing from Motorola, but isn't great for googles ambitions. If this was a totally google backed project it would have been sold at cost like the nexus phones, at least free on contract in the US. Instead, as is with its underpowered Internal specs and screen (by android high end standards) selling at the high end premium price point of $199 and up, this phone is going to have very good gross margins for Motorola. Its true that tech blogs and analysts are already saying the moto x is underwhelming, and there's no guarantee it will sell, but to quote Horace Dediu: "when bloggers shed tears, cash registers ring" This is no threat to Apple, and some threat to Samsung & HTCs high margin US sales, but Motorolas sales have plummeted to such a low level that they don't have to sell many of these to give a decent boost to their turnaround ambitions.

Based on the early reviews, Moto's "listening chip" learns the way you say "Okay Google Now" three times, and then you're good to go. That might work for keeping someone from turning it on, but once you say "Okay Google Now" within earshot, sounds like the fun begins. There's no way in heck just saying three words allows any security system to follow only your voice for whatever commands you give to the phone. So sophomoric pranksters take heart?

I don't see why Motorola doesn't just dissolve its corporate identity. Every time you say "Okay Google now", you're disavowing the Motorola brand. As if it wasn't obvious enough from the Moto Droids which weren't even the only Droids out there.

Why oh why is GOOG up today? That Moto X is a sure-fire dud. Amoled displays suck and it's going to run Android 4.2? WTF? And it's $200 on contract for a let-down of a handset.

GOOG is up because the rest of the market is. ;D
Or maybe "OK, Google Now" is even cooler than "Hi Galaxy".

Well, GOOG doesn't seem to suffer from pinning problems the way AAPL does.
AAPL v. GOOG this time? Should be fun.
