It'd be nice for Apple to get a win that "means something" in a tangible way (a nice check from Samsung that Apple actually gets to cash, an import ban of reasonably current and popular Samsung smartphones). AH isn't too enthusiastic.

Sweet! WSJ says "mixed". Maybe I'll let Mueller weigh in. EDIT: Looks like he got an "advance copy" or something - he has a full post up. Looks like he correctly guessed the outcome and had his piece ready.

Well, Apple appeals in the meantime. No guarantee Apple will win in this mad world, but it sure as hell has to try. e-book-gate is such a giant waste of time.

Not surprisingly, there is no mention of the positive news from today's ITC decision as I watch CNBC's Fast Money.

Kwon Oh Hyun: (phone rings) hello Tim Cook: Kwon - what's up playboy? Kwon: Hi Tim. How are you handsome? Tim: listen - about this import ban ruling that just got announced. I was with My homey Obama today chilling in the White House - and he gave me a wink when I asked him if he would veto the band. Kwon - ohhhhhh. Listen - let me tell you about project Tizen. Tim - lets talk about a global settlement - lower component prices, a flat fee per device.
Big win today

It's helpful, but this war is still far from over. Samsung's having too much fun/making too much profit to settle now, not without trying for Apple's non-standards-essential patents.

Didn't see this mentioned today. www.macrumors.com/2013/08/09/cincinnati-bell-to-begin-offering-iphone-5-on-august-16/I'm not bringing it up as a example of a new big sales opportunity, but rather am wondering if this gives a indication that the iPhone 5 will indeed be sticking around for another year. And if the iPhone 5 is going to stay around, to me that implies the iPhone "5C" will be lacking LTE and/or will have an A5 SoC.

The new cheap iPhone can certainly still have an A5 SoC in it. It's just that an "iPhone 5" without ANY of what makes an iPhone 5 a 5, _except_ the 1136x640 display? Talk about cynical marketing, eh?
At this point, I'll let Apple supply the answers, hopefully within a month.
