Well ... today is the 13th. Thirteen has always been a lucky number for me so hopefully it continues. As of right now AAPL is a beautiful shade of green in PM. Hopefully the rally continues and important technical levels are pierced while the shorts feel the heat and scramble to cover.

CLICKThe reports I am hearing from my kids in the UK is that S4 phones are being given away at the moment - it looks like Samsung are trying really hard to get people to switch before the next launch from Apple. On your other thing Artman, I never really got the disconnect between Ellison comparing the state of Apple without Jobs but completely ignoring that he was FIRED. The company he was chucked out of is not the same company that he left behind when he died. Very short sighted thinking on Ellison's part here. It's not like Oracle is surging now, is it?

Ellison is at a point where he is eccentrically involved in his personal life and was emotionally involved in his friendship with SJ. I would fully expect he would say this and I had seen the interview a while back. He lost a good friend and in his mind there is an irreplaceable void ... I get it. But let's remember that these comments are come from human beings - emotional and fully capable of making erroneous assumptions...otherwise termed "mistakes." NO ONE can predict the future of ANYTHING ... including Steve Jobs. We are mere mortals and the gods on Mt. Olympus will do with us whatever they wish. The important thing is to learn from the past, live in the present, and look forward to the future.

AAPL finished the Frankfurt Exchange at a healthy 471+ USD. Momentum is maintained. May the momentum continue in the USA.

FINALLY, some damn alpha for the ol' trading account. Not much but it's a start.
Nice followthrough from AAPL so far. Not a fan of the gap ups but since we're in strong uptrend, it's fine for now. Will consider adjusting the Jan 14 call position a bit. Sep 13 calls sold despite the best efforts of my idiot platform today.

Gap fill is good. Will be $520 by Sept 10, maybe more by Sept 20. Good time to lighten up between those two dates.

I can deal.
AAPL needed to gap fill a bit. Didn't completely, but we'll see how the rest of the day goes. AAPL cooling off and consolidating would be fine, just closing over 470 would be very constructive since AAPL has yet to do that this uptrend. 472+ would be better of course.
As for GOOG. ;D

AAPL doesn't have to do much the rest of the week to break above the SMA-200 (non div-adjusted), it just needs to hold 470 AFAIK.

The "rich" don't need a gold iPhone to feel "rich", only those that want others to think they are "rich" do.

We saw Apple with Steve Jobs. We saw Apple without Steve Jobs. We saw Apple with Steve Jobs. Now, we’re gonna see Apple without Steve Jobs.” From CultofmacAs a buddy of Jobs, you can't help but think he's biased. What's more this is a slur on Steve's efforts to make a company that endures after he's gone. Personally, I'd like to see a world without Mr Ellison.

Dalrymple on Larry Ellison's comments this morning:
___________________________________
About Larry Ellison’s comments on Steve Jobs Larry Ellison’s comments about Apple without Steve Jobs are causing quite a stir this morning. I agree with some of the things that Ellison said, like “He was brilliant, he was our Edison, he was our Picasso.”
I don’t think that anyone, including Tim Cook or the executive team at Apple would argue with those comparisons. Steve was an incredible man that had the ability to read what consumers wanted even before they knew they wanted it—that’s genius.
You also can’t argue with the history. As Ellison said, we’ve seen Apple with Jobs, we’ve seen Apple without Jobs. That’s true, but there is one big difference between this time and when Jobs was kicked out of Apple.
Steve worked hard to leave Apple in good hands. He molded the company, the products, the executive team and the vision he had for Apple. This time when Steve left Apple, he knew he was leaving and he wanted the company to survive and prosper in his absence.
If there was one man on this earth that couldn’t be replaced, it surely must have been Steve Jobs. To me, Apple doesn’t seem to be trying to replace Steve as much as they are trying to carry on the vision that Steve worked so hard to build. That’s what Steve wanted and that’s what we expect from Apple.

Almost feels unreal. Over the 200 day and climbing. Finally. Maybe I'll get lucky and be able to sell off my failed hopes and dreams © 500/525 September calls for breakeven, or dare I say, profit.
