Sponge disappears and Carl Icahn shows up? Very mysterious.... There's got to be Shorters that just crapped their pants.

It's about time AAPL moves on the basis of VALUATION and FUNDAMENTALS. Everything else is noise.

imagine having that power to move a market. it's insane to think about, and insane to think about how it can be manipulated.

32 trading days ago AAPL bottomed at $388.87. Today's intraday high is $100.30 higher.
Me thinks my $500 target prior to October earnings may be a bit conservative (hope so).

Lucky for us, Mr. Icahn would need quite a bit of shares more than he's worth to have much of an impact on Apple's operations, since he's a well-known corporate raider/activist investor.

Remember Icahn was also the one who launched a suit in an effort to get AAPL to hurry up with the distribution of cash to shareholders. Just as he has the power to move AAPL up dramatically, he also has the power to move it down drastically on FUD.

CNBC reports that Apple actually put out a statement !
Basically saying ... and I'm paraphrasing "Yes Mr. Ichan did have a positive conversation with Tim Cook today and they expect to be speaking again soon" .....
Good stuff. Mr. Ichan smells a bargain telling WS what we here already know .... now we need Buffet to get on board !

Glad Apple bought up so much AAPL when it did. Hopefully it's close to 50M shares bought by now.

How come this brilliant guy didn't smell a bargain $100 ago?! Don't get me wrong, I love this rocket fuel but it is just as manipulative as all the downside FUD.

Very true, though he probably didn't buy that close to the present price. But I'll take it if AAPL holds above 485, y'know? As a wild wave of AAPL sentiment, it makes a kind of sense. It helps to accept the market doesn't make a lot of sense to begin with.

I wish I could tweet about my positions and have them improve by 2% in a matter of minutes.
