I just walked out of a two hour meeting, tapped in to my AAPL stock quote and, literally, spilled coffee all over the keyboard. Well, I can now afford a new one...

Don't Bet against us Brian... Maybe TC is more schooled in Sun Tzu than we thought.
The last few days have been interesting with the leak Friday after hours, the Dalrymple"yep" Monday and now today's iCahn announcement.
Maybe we'll see China Mobile announcement on Monday. Nice way to control the news cycle leading into a launch.

Apparently Carl did not get Larry's memo about AAPL this morning. I'll see your Ellison, and raise you an iCahn.

Icahn said he had a position but he didn't say when he bought it. He may have bought it 100 points ago...don't know. In today's day and age the thought that these conversations are tweeted and reactions like this happen is very interesting to say the least. Icahn's record has been exceptional particularly as of late and I agree that the timing was in some way also very interesting...but hey...that's fine with me. Technically most of you were saying that we were at the cusp of breaching the 200 day ... and from different sites it seems that getting through that 472 area had us popping to 485/490 in a heart beat...and in fact it did just that. So I would suggest that it wasn't only Icahn but also the trajectory these last few days ... the technicals....the assumption of the September 10th date....well, you get my drift. The perfect storm is starting to emerge - but we said this all along, right? AAPL was a second half story....welcome to the Second Half!

while net im up a good amount today, i find it funny that a) i picked today to close off some open calls I had and make them a spread, AND b) opened a put spread to hedge the recent big gains.
my other bullish positions outweighed both moves, but KICKING myself calculating what it would be if i just waited hah!

Scott Wapner (CNBC) has a good inside call to Icahn since his on-air Herbalife show down with Icahn vs. Ackman...second only to the the Thrilla in Manilla with Ali and Frazier...Anyway, the push here seems to be that Icahn suggested an even bigger buy back to Tim Cook. (This according to the call Scott just had and aired on CNBC)

Don't feel too bad, I just closed one of my Jan 2015 $500 calls this morning for $47.25 -- now going for ~$58.

The close is going to be mind boggling...a lot of people have to make a decision in the next thirty minutes about where they want to be at 9:30 tomorrow.
32 million shares???

I will pop in briefly. Had a margin call yesterday morning. I have been buying since then up to 478. 2 more days like today and I will be whole again from my option losses.
Won't be shocked to see $650+ by Christmas. Will be happy with 550.
Signing out.

... now we need Buffet to get on board ! AAPL would shoot straight to $600 since WB buys at 25%-30% margin of safety.

Bought this AM at 472. Felt MACDh was going to swing and didn't think I'd have time to get in at the end of the day. Lucky me.

Anyone else also see us crossing 500 tomorrow? Don't know about tomorrow, but the lasr time we traded above $495 was the day of January earnings. On that day AAPL's intraday high was $515. I think its obvious that WS IS NOT buying FQ4 Guidance. They are buying FY2014 and beyond. I see Investor Sentiment continuing to expand, generating an ISM as high as 20 in the next 6 months. I'm currently modeling FY2014 Net Income at $45B to $50B. Apply your own share count for EPS, but the YoY growth in Net Income is 20% to 35%. EPS growth could be double that.

Heard the following, which I patched together, from multiple sources I trust (don't ask, I won't name them).
Apple and Intel are in serious talks about producing Apple chips in Intel's Oregon facilities. Those talks almost came to fruition just recently. If final details can be worked out in the next few months I would look for Intel Inside during FY2015.
