Big Friday coming up for the market.
Toying with the idea of adding to AAPL longs if AAPL holds high 490s to over 500 (a megabull case, IMHO) in the right market conditions.

If the 128GB option pans out, I would speculate the $199 on-contract entry level 5S model will start at 32GB instead of 16GB.

Not sure why Apple would do this as they're giving up margin when the pressure is already on to maintain/grow it. I saw a tweet yesterday saying that 64GB chips are now around $25. There has been a crash in Flash prices. And you can bet Apple will be getting the BEST price. Guy called Ryan Jones: Woah, supplier prices for 64GB over time. 2010: $118 2011: $76 2012: $41 2013: $25?

However, if Apple starts with 32GB, then Apple gives up the opportunity to charge more for 128GB (as they're doing on the iPad). iOS7 is efficient on the storage and unless Apple wants to include the 32GB as a point of distinction from the 5c, I don't see it. I don't think they have to, either (unless the 5s is missing a fingerprint sensor).

Apple's acquisition of Matcha in May can be interpreted negatively or positively, as it tentatively signals to me Apple isn't as far along with iTV that I had hoped, or it was defensive to keep a copycat artist stuck in the programming mud.
With what Matcha was doing, I expected Apple to have completed this at least 2 years ago.

With 24k call contracts at the 500 strike, it would be impressive to close over it today.

Man, what a nothing kinda trading day. But oh well. Decided not to take any chances and zeroed out all trades (except my IBM puts) for a slight percentage loss. But I'm still net up a decent amount for the week, so there's that.

I'd have to say yes, though as always, who knows about the next trading day, esp. if that trading day is after the weekend. Bullish opportunity with more risk than usual if trying a short-dated play with AAPL >500 at the close, fair to say. (Doesn't mean I won't try and think up a upside trade though. )

Why micro bullish? Do you think volume picks up making the victory less worthy? I think higher volume has the chance to swamp OPEX and that's bullish in its own right.
It's early, but it appears buyers don't want to wait for Monday.

The longer we spend, the morning over 502 the better chance for a 2:14 p.m. move up.. Lets get those 500 strikes sold, rolled and otherwise burned down....

More speculation about an Apple TV offering by M.G. Siegler, who also has contacts inside Apple. Matchma acquisition? November?
I like John Gruber's take, to Gene Munster: Gene, is that a banana in your pocket?

"Micro" meaning shorter timeframe, 1-3 days maybe? I'm talking timeframe Mercel, not extent. AAPL crushing the hopes and dreams of...500 call writers?! I can go with that. ;D

Not so sure about 500 +/- a quarter or so today, chas. I did play the 495/500/505 game overnight, though. Got out OK-ish, made maybe 10%.
damn you FSLR/IBM, btw

Sure AAPL could get the butterflies to a net credit of up to 3 today? Not gonna chomp antacids for the next four hours, thanks.
Good luck to you tho! What's your net debit? Did ya buy 500 of em? ;D

is there a breakout once we hit 505 ? Appears to be, but minor. Resistance is at the 503/504 area, then another at 507-509.

Apple tops Selling on Strength.
Calls being exercised, maybe?

Apple tops Selling on Strength. Calls being exercised, maybe? The EOs are selling to keep AAPL close to $500 in order to expire 24k call contracts worthless. Not sure they'll be successful given what happened this week with our new BFF, Carl Icahn.
