I'm a Virgo and I don't want any snide comments about Trek and virgins... Apple fine today. That champagne iPhone getting lots of buzz.... China is being predicted to go ape sh*t over it. The Commodore has seen the mock-up and declared the color "goes with her car". What can I say? Another sale for the champagne model....

That's it, iPhone 5S +100% YOY or bust. I mean, "goes with my car" is a sign of a gold megatrend! Well, y'know, gold _iPhone_, maybe not that _other_ actual bullion gold

Hey, why just China? Who doesn't love gooooollllld? Might be a big hit in Holland (isn't that weird) Though gold + Greater China + China Mobile = all-in weeklies Since I want to be inclusive, how about homo sapiens? I'm getting excited to see it. And try as Samsung might, gold plastic isn't going to make it. Gold is a metal, after all.

How about wood? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
(I still can't believe Moto is that stupid. It's all about production ramp, and customization on that level is flabbergasting. Assuming iPhone 5C is for real, it's not gonna be pretty.)

YTD for my rising/falling MACDh (buy at the close when it rises, sell at the close when it falls, and sell before earnings release)...
Started the year by buying 10 shares @506.09. Now holding 13 shares @507.74 + $18 in cash. Up 30.1% for the year. AAPL is down 8.3% for the year.

Why exactly does it bother ta enthusiasts that other people disregard it? I mean I could care less what other people think. It works for me. Use what works for you. Boring argument that seems to go on endlessly... Could care less if people disregard it. But I do prefer people voice informed opinions over uninformed ones. ;D You don't see me flaunting my ignorance in technology discussions.

What a welcome sight to see relative strength (compared to market) again! That gets a WHHHHHEEEEEEEEE right there!!!! Support/resistance usually holds on the first test. Need to see a retest. Talking about 514-515-ish here.

Anybody else find it amusing that Doug Kass is whining about iCahn tweeting his position? I guess Dougie's "gnomes" aren't dialed in on Carl's frequency.
Kass must have been shorting AAPL again.

Keep it civil and reasonably PG (as in the movie rating) and almost anything goes here. Which is why I love this board

Talking about 514-515-ish here. I sure hope so, I bought 25 shares @ 500.81, then today @ $511.25 placed a stop limit @ 507.25. Would like to see $514 and raise my stop limit $1 for every $2 increase indefinitely Also placed stop limits for the 25 shares I bought @ $434 & 25 shares @ 434 for 10% gains. May raise those tomorrow for 12 - 15 % gains. (Note the gains will remain in AAPL shares, buy 25 sell 23 - 22 shares). Zero cost shares give infinite % on the dividends to my simple minded and senile logic. Edit: oh, by the way what happened to the 2:15 Red shift in price , sure would have helped today in the current comical adventures of rickag.

Too late for you to see this, I'm sure, so I may repost tomorrow, though I usually can't get to the boards until late.

The only thing I have to add re: today's dialogue on TA. Analogous to astronomy, NOT astrology!! Astronomy? There's hope then, as I'm looking forward to the day TA is subjected to the rigors of the scientific method, as it is the honesty of science that one doesn't posit a theory if it can't be tested.

I'm glad he's reportedly pissed at CNBC, maybe he'll stay off the boob tube, sparing viewers of his complete ignorance about Apple.

Mercel - you could say the same thing about art. Technicals mean different things to different people. With so many metrics, objective measurement is all but impossible. See also - art. No way is technicals an end-all, be-all, cure-all, can't-miss system. It's a set of tools which people use to varying effect and consistency. See also - art. Like art, it's not for everyone, and the way I'm not jealous of a good painter's ability (well, not TOO much), I'd hope the painter doesn't look down at me because I'm not so handy with a brush. "Proper" application of technicals really IS an art. Like the friggin' stock market! At day's end the only measurement worth measuring is how well the market participant can honestly say they've done relative to an honest and objective assessment of their goals (e.g. do they try for 10-15% returns each and every year). If you wanna be even more philosophical about it, was it worth the effort? Did the invested capital grow, and did it grow about the way the market participant wanted it to, i.e., in such a way that minimized the need for antacids and other therapies?
