I know this is off topic but what the heck is up with Sec. of State John Kerry?! Clearly he used an elephant sized needle and over-used Botox. His entire face from his upper lip to his hairline is now frozen. He was already a bit expressionless but this is just crazy. Take a look the next time you see him on your TV. His face is absolutely FROZEN....geez.

Jefferies cuts AAPL price target from 450 to 425. Morons. That is Peter Misek. He has a personal agenda and is looking to slam AAPL - no matter what AAPL does. He has a personal agenda and is a weak person...It is so obvious that he has lost all credibility with the street.

Misek is a Buffoon.
But all markets need buffoons.
That explains the pre market dip I guess.

Misek - like many others - felt embarrassed/hurt when guidance from TC and Oppy began to change. Most analysts - like Katie Huberty - accepted what they heard and changed accordingly. Misek has just spewed negativity over negativity. Recently on CNBC he said that nothing AAPL does will be a positive because they have painted themselves into a corner and he went on and on about how there is no growth left there. He made NUMEROUS appearances (campaign like) in the last two week....and all this from a guy who is hurt ... possibly because his outlook a year ago was this and now feels like he has egg on his face: appleinsider.com/articles/13/09/12/docomo-said-to-have-promised-apple-40-of-sales-will-be-iphoneI've seen this before - that's how analysts self-destruct. They lose their objectivity...granted it works both ways...I will concede to that to be fair...but I don't get paid to be objective - he does. Enough about Misek...too much time and energy spent on a useless topic...let's talk FRUIT.

I sure wish someone would do a two-three year background thread on Misek's predictions on AAPL's earnings and stock price. Otherwise, it is just silly to call him names. Peter seems to be a cell phone analyst. www.cbc.ca/player/News/TV%2BShows/Lang%2B&%2BO'Leary%2BExchange/ID/2405958298/ video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000198158Peter on Bloomberg on July 9th when AAPL was $415.05 media.bloomberg.com/bb/avfile/News/Surveillance/vozyEowsK304.mp3And then we have this: www.marketwatch.com/story/apple-price-target-cut-to-405-jefferies-2013-06-24June 24th: Apple Inc. AAPL -0.48% had its stock price target cut to $405 from $420 Monday by Jefferies after the investment bank said the technology company may slow its iPhone production. Elevated inventory levels indicate the company may cut iPhone building in the third quarter, its current quarter, and fourth quarter as it prepares for the potential release of the iPhone 5S in September and iPhone 6 next year, according to Jefferies. The investment bank currently rates Apple at "hold". Shares of Apple traded down 1% at 413.50 in premarket trading Monday. I dont know what all the fuss is about? I haven't followed him for years, but I have been following his absurd calls for a few months now. Around the same time he made that bearish apple call back in June, he also went bullish on Blackberry with a price target of,$22 because his "supply chain and channel" research was evidence that blackberrys new phones were a big hit! Here we are a mere 10 weeks later, and blackberry is trying to sell itself or shut down its handset operations completely because its new phones failed spectacularly.

Kindly do not politicize this. I don't ask for car posts to be put on a car thread and suggest it is potential gender discrimination... it's OK to deviate a smidgen now and then. It was an observation on the potential ramifications of vanity or pursuit of the fountain of youth. Nothing more, nothing less.

Misek knows how to get CNBC time: Just talk smack about Apple. What irritates me is that this guy can be WRONG so consistently so long and STILL be treated as an analyst. He was a MAJOR bull on RIM long after it was clear it was dying. Apple killed RIM that killed Misek's credibility.
Yeah, I was thinking Kerry had botox in order to become a better poker player?
There will be ample supplies of the iPhone 5c and the preordering should continue to indicate 9/20 delivery. Again, the 5c should do well but it's all about the 5s.

Is anyone getting a 5C or know of others who are? If one has the $, it's a no-brainer to get the 5S so while I have no doubt the 5S will sell well, the 5C I'm just a little iffy about - especially pre-orders since people who can do without the newest & greatest iPhone may not necessarily go out of their way to pre-order the phone either (I.e. they can afford to wait). So I'm a little concerned about how WS will spin this one if the numbers aren't there this weekend and how much more it can affect the stock.
I'm getting a 5S for sure.

The more I read about the camera tech inside the 5s, the more impressed I am. This think will absolutely kill point and shoots. We are going to hear much more about the camera in the 5s.

Ship dates have slipped 1-2 weeks in Hong Kong for the 5c. You can still get a 5c next Friday in other markets, for now. Nice that Hong Kong exhausted supplies first.

I don't know of anyone getting the 5C. I think it may have been a good idea to have brought forward something new into that design, other than the enclosure, to show it was some form of upgrade over the 5. Like the camera and the dual flash. That would still leave a lot of differentiation between it and the 5S.

Remember that almost half of iphone sales this year have been the 4 & 4S - and obviously the 5 was a better phone. So in that respect the 5C is a much better phone compared to the 5S than the 4S was to the 5, would you agree?

So in that respect the 5C is a much better phone compared to the 5S than the 4S was to the 5, would you agree? I think that is why we comment only and Apple actually does real work in marketing. The distinct physical difference between all three phones is a brilliant move. I think it will result in more sales of the 5C and 5S then in the past when half were 4 and 4S. I also like that in three years the 5C may become the emerging market runaway hit via the second hand market. I can see it selling just under $350 then similar to the 4 selling around 400 in China. Three year old phones that last and have power will keep moving market penetration in the right direction. I transfered more cash today. I truly believe the stock will explode on Monday the 23rd.

Posters here, including me, have mentioned AAPL has become a show me stock. I amend that to, "show me what I what to hear". Investors by and large were wanting an iPhone 5C at a much lower price about in the $350 - $400 range.
The next show me will be pre-orders and/or first weekend sales. With Apple only offering the 5C for pre-order on 9/13 and the 5S for order on 9/20 this will muddle numbers that Apple may announce. Will the 5S be available on 9/20 or will orders be for delivery at a later date, if so how much later?
Will Apple even announce numbers following the 1st weekend of sales for the iPhone 5C since there may be no numbers for the 5S?
Expectations for investors to jump back in will be higher that the iPhone 5 numbers of 5 million but with a staggered rollout I expect a very volatile and bumpy ride for AAPL.

I don't think there is any situation where the preorder status today is reported as anything but negative. If there are still plenty of available models towards end of day "weak demand" headlines, if ship, dates start falling past Sep 20th "Supply constrained". I bet some stories will quote both.
FYI - just searching on twitter for "5C" or "iPhone 5C" gives an interesting range of opinions. A lot of love for a 5C & Color preference, a lot of "I want a 5S" comments etc.
I wonder how many are going to be lining up at walmart today to get their $20 discount on the 5C, seems like something the more value conscious buyer might do.
