I'm going to wait until tomorrow (Wed. at the latest) to float a theory as to why Apple traded soft today. It probably gives WS more credit than it deserves but that's my comfort zone; were it not so I'd really have my money out of the market.
Tomorrow will help clarify things (i.e. is WS playing Apple one day at a time, a week, a month?). For now, I'll let the TA guys place their bets unfettered by sheer speculation and WAGs.

What did you think of it? Yep - rooting for the Steelers tonight. No, didn't like the ad at all but I believe it was an AT&T ad. Poor. Artman: No, that wasn't the commercial but I like how that one flows. Haven't seen that air in the NY area.

The one I saw was the same as Artman posted. I liked it better the second time I saw it. I liked it except not the way it ended, because the end looks so much like the leaked photos of 5C's.

Big deal for what? I couldn't care less about FB (I made an extra effort to delete my account, formerly on deactivated status). Twitter? Mindless chatter to my eyes. Check out StockTwits: random postings from everyone without any accountability or credibility. Who has the time to filter the quality out of the quantity?

Two rumors out there tonight: 1. IPad event coming on October 15th 2. Rumor that the "No Supply" in Hong Kong refers to the system not accepting reservations yet and not to it being a sell-out
Thoughts?

I wondered about #2 as well, except that pre orders for us are effective 12:01 PST on 9/20 (Friday). If the start time is the same there, China's preordering is on 9/17 and we're way past 12:01 on 9/17 there now. I liked the TV ad. Here's another video link. www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=p8IAkbWJNfY

I cannot believe I bought the short leg back on my BCS. I feel like I'm in the red light district of Amsterdam with an empty pipe and no condoms. Exciting and stressful at the same time.

Sometimes we say: We shall agree to disagree. BUT I completely and wholeheartedly believe you are incorrect. Whatever the "other" news is tomorrow; the fact that Twitter is now available in Iran will be a very big deal. AAPLStocktwits is a twitter LIST for "$AAPL". I can use the "search" function on twitter to search for any subject discussed in current news. I can build my own lists or "subscribe" to other twitter folks "public" lists. It is instant news for everyone. It is news from abroad for the Iranian citizen.

Also ... there were 2 models that showed availability ... can't remember which so that site looks legit. They updated the site -- when I looked nothing was available. So it appears Hong Kong is live and there are some 5s models still available. Bull: Good news (demand is strong) Bear: Availability is poor (almost sold out!)

It looks like all models of the 5c unlocked have been sold out for 9/20 delivery date. Makes sense. Why buy a color 5c for 199 when you get the 5s for 199 (on contract).

For those that were questioning the wisdom of releasing the iPhones on the same day in multiple markets this article describes what has typically happened in those markets. It would make me crazy to hear about how much the iPhones were bringing on the black market .... now Apple's customers will have enough to buy 2 ! www.reuters.com/article/2013/09/10/apple-china-idUSL3N0H51JG20130910

Stats on Twitter. Not much to recommend it unless pointless babble is your shtick (I'll concede the study has mold on it but I don't see that much has changed)

I find twitter immensely valuable, its the best feed of relevant breaking news as long as you are following twitter accounts of people/sites that you trust.

I follow the T-3 live crew, who tweet some of their thoughts on market direction and stocks they're trading. If I'm looking to move into or out of a position their opinion benefits me. Like everything, you need to know who you follow.

A John Gruber quote to close on:
Like I wrote last week, in marketing, what looks new is new. If you don’t think the iPhone 5C is going to be a huge hit, call me up and let’s wager some money.

They know that the 5c is a repackaged 5 in a plastic case. In my opinion, saving $100 won't be enough to move people from the 5s. I believe Apple will drop the 5c price. And it will happen in the next few months.

Its more of the aggregated nature of it all, to get up to date with all the news on things I'm interested in I would have to visit a dozen websites or I can just check my twitter feed, which also includes individuals & friends who retweet things outside my normal sphere of attention that I might find interesting.

And it will happen in the next few months. The 5C is a bigger deal internationally. In a lot of countries the iPhone 5 was simply a 3G (with the LTE band not compatible with a lot of carriers), now the 5C comes along $100 cheaper and it has LTE compatibility for virtually every carrier on the planet. Plus the upgraded 5C FaceTime camera is much better for selfies, which I'm sure is important for some people & politicians in particular apparently.

Apple doesn't have to drop the 5C price. Others will do it for them. And already have.
I suspect the "5C lightbulb" will come on when, not if, China Mobile's TD-LTE network is finally up, which some say is November, but who knows.
Btw, looks like ALL THREE of the major Chinese telecoms will, whether they like it or not, start their LTE networks on TD-LTE. And apparently, there's still pretty much zero LTE anywhere in China. I'd have to think Apple is selling TD-LTE compatible models in China from Day One. And yet there's no mention of it that I'm aware of.

Mostly? All 5s in all configurations and colors are marked "unavailable." 5c models are still available except for yellow. Weird, I just went to the link and only the blue 5C was available.
