Perfect mix of arrogance and condescension there, doc. Trying to make friends around here? Nope. I'm here for the humor now. I like humor as well. Could you do your impression of TC some more and describe how successful AAPL would be with you at the reins. I kind of miss those discussions since Tuffet left. I know Tim is setting on edge-----waiting. "Humor is laughing at what you haven't got when you ought to have it." - Langston Hughes

Either the Tree is being hit by a couple dozen spambots, or a couple dozen people are so bored this Sunday that they're actually interested in Apple operating expenses, of all things. Wow.

I was very excited to see your work on OpEx. I've been doing something similar, but couldn't find anything causal to match my results. Here's some tidbits to add to your research. Between F2007 and F2009 OpEx (on average) increased YoY 6.75% Between F2010 and F2012 OpEx (on average) increased YoY 34.78% F2013 OpEx increased YoY 14.19% OpEx Growth Rate definitely flattened during F2013. Was this because Management knew Revenue growth was going to flatten, or there was no need to allow it to grow as before? I also developed a chart displaying OpEx seasonality. This may be useful to estimate future OpEx by quarter (as an adjunct to Management's Guidance).

I wouldn't bother. You're not going to convince this crowd that the EOs aren't out to get them each and every week. Do not include me in that list. I have argued against that belief on several occasions.

Early Index Futures are marginally green. Don't know if I can hold my breath for 7 hours (Market Open).
Holding OCT Week4 $500/$505 BCSs acquired at $3.20.

Gregg, you did read my theory, right? It's, uh, not seasonal.

Gregg, you did read my theory, right? It's, uh, not seasonal. Yes I did. My chart says it is. I calculated each quarter's contribution as a percent of the annual. Results were as follows: F2005 through F2009DEC Quarter 25.04% MAR Quarter 23.73% JUN Quarter 24.90% SEP Quarter 26.33% F2010 through 2013DEC Quarter 24.46% MAR Quarter 23.32% JUN Quarter 25.58% SEP Quarter 26.64% FQ2 is always lower than FQ1. FQ3 and FQ4 are almost universally higher than FQ1, with FQ4 being higher than FQ3. I have deltas for those items as well, and intend to use them as a check against Management's Guidance. On average FQ1 OpEx is 17.46% higher than FQ4. I attribute that to increased advertising expense. The fact that our interpretations of the data differ does not diminish either effort. I think it just opens the door for deeper exploration of the subject.

Tim Cook is all about magic, energy and love but don't forget this guy probably knows the perception when google doubles. This might have some added benefit for apple - in terms of their approach to managing the stock price. Care to elaborate on that? Thanks
