Not trying to ruin your party but AAPL just seems to up on an up day. It would be really good if AAPL had a few days where it moved independently of the market. Or am I reading it wrong? ...and... What she said, also. Strong impulsive wave from 493. Very impressive. Very wheee worthy.

Strong impulsive wave from 493. Very impressive. Very wheee worthy. You forgot to mention whether the impulse is completing soon or still in wave three . Your reputation would be ruined if it is in wave five of the impulse. Elliotticians would forgive your loose comments but others would laugh at you when the retracement follows your comment immediately.

From yesterday, Does Apple have any partnership with LQMT currently? My understanding is that Apple has a long-term, exclusive, consumer tech license with Liquid Metal, as well as being awarded several patents for its use. I think some day, if/when the mass protection hurdles are worked out, the license will pay off for Apple. And hopefully, AAPL and LQMT shareholders.

Geez, everybody bought at the close...ha...! Feel like short-covering by day traders who have shorted AAPL around $544.84 after spotting the bearish divergence. Expect Mr Market to try to push AAPL to $540 (the highest OI (calls)) tomorrow.

It's a good defensive/offensive move. Buy up the rights to a promising technology. Work like hell to find applications for it (have you ever seen a nicer SIM eject tool). It's not a Nest or Moto, nor does it have to be. Nice AAPL day. It's looking like "Air Pocket II" - and considering how "Air Pocket I" resolved, I'll take it, nausea notwithstanding.

I'd like to get some feed back on sales at china mobile stores. Any body seeing any comments on sales people saying how 5s is moving off the shelves? I think this is THE criticle question for where the stock price will be at the end of the year.

CM launch will be (remain) fairly quiet IMHO. Combo of gated rollout (no iPhones sold where TD-LTE isn't up and running), probable CM caution for TD-LTE (please don't overload our new network), lukewarm subsidies, and consumer anticipation of iPhone 6.
I don't see much China Mobile enthusiasm in guidance - do you? Or maybe China Mobile is "saving" fiscal Q2 more than we know. Who knows.
But for iPhone 6? The sky is the limit for initial sales, provided there's supply. I expect so damn much FUD during launch weekend...

Like most members of this forum, I'm appalled at how Wall Street treats AAPL so much differently than they do GOOG, AMZN, FB, TSLA and NFLX. Frustrating. But what really frustrates me almost more than that is how they value Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG), which is currently at $557.65 (up $11.91, 2.18% today). This is far beyond ridiculous, IMO.

Well, of course, macwire, you're correct...that would do me a lot of good. I should also get more exercise, eat more veggies and avoid fattening foods but that's also probably not going to happen. I do appreciate your very good advice but I'm sure I will continue to be emotional about it. Fortunately, for the last 15 or so years, my "investing approach" (if you could call it that) has been to buy as much AAPL as my wife and I could afford and hold on to it. Those days are now past as our AAPL buying these days only happens when our IRA dividends are automatically reinvested. So even though I grind my teeth about it, it doesn't affect my investing.

What I think Red was saying is, AAPL is trading above the 50-day. Moreso for the div-adjusted but it's also slightly above the non-div-adjusted 50-day.
Technicals and story aligning again. I think most will agree this is an encouraging sign, with the usual caveats.

I think it's constructive to keep bringing up lesser companies with luxury P/E ratios. The more people focus on the relative valuations using fundamental metrics, the better. It sure beats the facile comments that pass for analysis on CNBC, NYT, et al.
AMZN, GOOG, FB and rest NEED a spotlight on them (both for valuation AND the fact that negative news sells). God knows the spotlight on AAPL does NOTHING good for it. In fact, it's a big negative IMO.
There's such incredible chicanery and gamesmanship in the stock market. How can anyone say the stock market is efficient at valuation. Everyday, same circus, different clowns.

Yup.
Of course those of us who choose to use leverage know what we're dealing with.
At least AAPL is proving to have more of a floor under it these days. Beats last year.
