4 weeks of closing within a range of just a little more than five bucks.
Sheesh.

Going to go pick up a (hopefully) case of 22oz bombers of one of my favorite IPA's in a bit. Continuing the iPhone vs iPads aren't different products discussion of the intraday, there was an article a year or two back about Apple's product differentiation strategy. It showed how Apple carefully avoided doing things like phablets to avoid killing two birds with one stone cannibalization (one product replacing another is OK, but one replacing two is bad). So Apple doesn't do the infinite number of sizes thing that Saumsung, e.g., does. Same with why Apple doesn't do a hybrid like the Surface (assuming it could even do so without it sucking). But I cannot find that article. I would be grateful to anyone who could find that piece again. There were several pics in it to demonstrate the point. Edit: Got my IPA's (2 cases).

4 weeks of closing within a range of just a little more than five bucks. Sheesh. PLUS a million. So tired of this status. Feel's like stock purgatory. We've got a floor (TC'S buybacks, Ichan) but no tangible catalyst.

We've got a floor (TC'S buybacks, Ichan) but no tangible catalyst. We need products. I'm getting tired of waiting. Looking back to January 2013, I don't think I would have so adamantly stuck with AAPL had I known we'd drag on this long without anything. It's coming, I still have faith, but the pace needs to pick up.

Could CarPlay be the new "category" that Tim Cook was talking about? If that is the only new category for the year, I would be highly disappointed.

Right or wrong that is definitely thinking outside the box.

We saw the ring concept a little while ago. I liked it as a controller for the TV: swipe channels left or right, swipe volume up or down as depicted in the film Minority Report. This concept from back in 2007: www.tuvie.com/iring-ipod-ring-concept/Regarding CarPlay, remember the ROKR phone? Apple partnered to learn everything they could about building an iPod into a phone, then ate Motorola's lunch. I think they're doing the same thing with the CarPlay partnerships. Embed their tech with somebody else's device, learn everything you can about deploying for that use case, then drop an Apple branded dash unit in a year "for the rest of us". I still think Apple plans to use the network of Apple stores as hubs for car audio and home automation installation crews. Only time will tell.

The lack of postings makes me realize two things.....
I miss all you nut jobs, and
Apple the stock is just not engaging right now......in fact, it's boring....

Not only is AAPL not doing anything - but the market may be puking a bit tomorrow. If you're on Twitter or Stocktwits or anything else ... seems like everyone is feeling the sky is falling. OTOH maybe it's a contra-indicator given the overwhelming amount of negativity.

Futures seemed a bit dour, but they're neutral now.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Bit less than 6 weeks to go before earnings - hopefully we'll get a cash update from Apple before then.
