(: Yay!!! so happy I've finally broken even LOL I was assigned auto-exercised 1000 shares at 587 last time we breached 600, and have been riding them ever since. Nice when the divy more than covers the margin nut for like 2 years. Conviction > fear.

I thought the consensus was that the 7:1 split was in anticipation of a Dow listing eventually?

Interesting tidbit to think about.
When Apple won that $1 billion judgment against Samsung in that first case in late summer 2012, the stock shot up from 680 to 690, for a move of 1.4%. Today, in a reaction to the 119 million judgment, a much smaller and less concrete "win," the stock went up... 1.4%

Looks like pre-split to me. Around $68 million at today's price.

Looks like pre-split to me. Around $80 million at today's price. ultimately, it does not matter a hill of beans...... I SUPPOSE...... I hope it is worth $800 million upon settlement... THAT WORKS FOR ME..

I've emailed Tim about making more of its customers aware of the upgrade path to new iPhones. It's surprising that one would be using an old iPhone on a plan that includes $22 per month for the subsidy on a new one (T-Mobile being an exception). For many, they can sell their old iPhone for more on craigslist - out of contract - for less than the price of a new one. That means they PUT MONEY IN THEIR POCKET if they upgrade. Good for Apple -- not so great for ATT, Verizon, etc. 9to5mac.com/2014/05/05/apple-plans-enormous-iphone-upgrade-event-this-week-to-boost-sales/Also, Apple could put its products back in Costco if it's serious about increasing sales. Costco is selling Samsung - S**T and it's a missed opportunity. BTW, I handled a 12" tablet Samsung is selling in Costco. The form factor is better for typing fast.

Costco never sold iPhones IIRC.
Costco would help, sure, but it's not why iPhone isn't growing in the US. There's hardly any smartphone sales growth amongst the Big 4, unless that "lease" program everyone's pushing really starts catching on (or until the more restrictive regular-contract renewal cycle is the new normal for most contracts, like Tim mentioned)
Of course Apple could always "patch things up" with Costco. If Best Buy of all stores can find a way to work with Apple again...

Costco DID sell iPods and iTunes gift cards. Everytime I stroll through Costco, I see nothing but SamS**T. I know a V-P at Costco who doesn't see any roadblock to a rapprochement. My read is that is boils down to who wants it more -- Apple may have to play ball with sweetening the margin, however.

Shoppers associate Costco with good quality and low prices, and all they see is Samsung televisions and Samsung phones when they enter a store. Yes, there are plenty of opportunities to buy an iPhone elsewhere, but Costco stores hit the key middle class and upper middle class demographic that makes up a huge percentage of iPhone customers.

This is Tim Cook-led Apple, not Steve Jobs-led, so my WAG is Apple is working on bringing Costco back as a channel partner.

I associate Costco with cheap. That's why Samsung is there.
