I associate Costco with cheap. That's why Samsung is there. Anyone know if BURBERRY is ever sold there?

Wasn't the Costco / Apple 'falling out' related to online sales?

I think everything may be on the table. Let's not forget that things have changed so it behooves everyone to reassess and exploit opportunities if they exist. The outcome may be the same but it is worth reviewing - IMHO

Costco carries high end product across the board -- I would wager even J.D. doesn't spend up for the Scotch it sells. Presentation means nothing to Costco customers. Would it change my impression of Apple if it sold there? It didn't when iPods were on the floor -- especially when I saw them inside the shopping carts. A sale is a sale is a sale.

I'm very happy with the volume in the first half-hour. 3.5 million shares is a nice start to the day....10:15 move up?

The Walmart near me has had an Apple iPhone and iPad display for several years, and for most of that time it has looked vandalized, as if someone ripped the product right off its stand. I suggest that Apple completely remove its products from Walmart. Costco may not be an ideal place to sell high-end phones, but at least it is managed far, far better than Walmart.

Wasn't the Costco / Apple 'falling out' related to online sales? That's not my recall, but I'll ask when I see him next. My friend did allude to Apple's restrictive room for margin -- the iPods were marginally discounted. Too, Jim Sinegal was running things at the time of Apple's departure. Now, two new executives on both sides could restart things. An extra benefit is keep pressure on Samsung by competing there.

AAPL made $10.2 BILLION in net profit last quarter, yet MarketWatch is running an article asking if $68m for Angela vesting over four years is too much. The first line of the article even calls it a "gamble", when it amounts to less than 1% of ONE QUARTER'S PROFITS...and that's spread out over four years. If Angela is a failure and gets canned before the end of four years, she doesn't even get the full amount.
Sometimes I think the Law of Big Numbers should really be stated thus : that the average financial 'journalist' on the Internet can't count in big numbers.

That's probably less than George Clooney makes per film - tell them to go take a crap! Enough with that nonsense already!
PS George makes $20MLN per film but good ole Sandra Bullock just made $70MLN on Gravity. And please not get into sports figures and models....how much you think Mr. Brady and Ms. Bunchen make per year...let MarketWatch write about THAT. IDIOTS! THEY ARE ALL IDIOTS!

As far as Costco goes, I just don't want to compromise on margins. The paradox of Costco customers is that they are actually more wealthy than the average shopper, and are smart and affluent enough to afford full price and find iPhones elsewhere.
And I don't drink scotch, or any other paint removal solvents. I was just telling a friend who works at my local liquor store upon seeing some Port Brewing's beers there, "if it's in Costco, it no longer qualifies as craft brew."
As for Ahrendts, I'm all for high compensation for top performers, but that's an awful lot of money for someone in her first month at Apple. Cook and the Board must really be impressed with her. I hope they are right and that she proves worthy. If Ron Johnson proved anything, it's that being great at one job is no guarantee of being successful at another.
Should be an interesting week. Wednesday is the last day to get the divy, which means possible selling on Thursday, plus 600 call walls on Friday. Lots of 600's at the monthly expiry too. Must achieve escape velocity and get some distance from 600's pull...

If Sandra Bullock is worth $70M toward the success of Gravity (not), then Angela is SURELY worth what Apple paid to get her. I could CARE LESS if Sandra B. says lines in a movie -- who cares if it's her or another actress. That's just stupid. Now, Shu Qi is a different story altogether...

And these folks get it paid all at once - not in RSU's over four years. The people over at MarketWatch are the same ones buying tickets to watch Gravity and probably watching the Kardashians - another bunch of geniuses who became famous over the mother (Kris) peddling her daughter's (Kim's) sex tapes. Such talent! Ok...enough... I need to stop. I'm done. On AAPL - don't know where our techies are but from what I am reading $594 needs to hold and should hold - we had to have a correction of sorts as a penalty for passing $600 - assuming we hold we should then be in good shape. That being said, lots of skeptical people out there. Traders still saying (on TV) that right now there is no catalyst since the WWDC will not be a product announcement venue. Hence, might we languish all summer? I have no effing clue ... my 8 Ball won't share that information with me.

Support and Fib levels for now? High beta is crazy high beta lately.
AAPL moved up a ton in this uncertain environment. Some rest would be just fine. Though the way the mkts closed everyone's on edge I'm guessing.
Missed the AMZN move. Again. Oh well

One doesn't have to own AMZN to just LOVE that action!
A little birdie told me that the rumor of Apple planning something for an iPhone trade-in event this week is legit. Let's see if an announcement is made tomorrow.

I tend to agree with Jim from loop insight "It will be easier for Apple when it comes to light that “iWatch” isn’t a product but an OS/platform."
I think apple is about to open up their software for the medical device field to play with various software and connected devices.

No official Apple announcement has been made so maybe it will feed some positive sentiment Wed - Thur - Fri?

Though the way the mkts closed everyone's on edge I'm guessing. As soon as we breached 600, the knuckleheads started chirping about bubble again. So I'd almost want to wait for the split for AAPL to take off, since I guarantee the average idiot on CNBC or the rest of the Dunderheadshpere wouldn't be able to do the math with AAPL at 100.
