Debunked as fake by a reddit user. (see bottom of article). Take it for what it's worth.

Sorry. Missed it. Guess my screen needed refreshing from being idle for a while.

Meanwhile in Cupertino: I myself might shed a tear for humanity for the never-ending Ignorance on Parade, but I'm too busy trying to figure out if I can BTFD tomorrow (or otherwise catch the momo train semi-gracefully)

Jim Dalrymple on new hardware at WWDC tomorrow: "Yep"
However, he doesn't say what and I'm not sure he knows any specifics, just that there WILL be hardware. Mmmmm.
While Apple will announce new hardware on Monday, the focus will be on software – specifically iOS 8 and the next version of Mac OS X.

Mac updates? I thought Jim D. already said "nope" Retina MBA -- I say no, because the MBA was just speed-bumped Apple TV -- Overdue, so yeah, possible iWatch -- Love to see it but will be a surprise Airport Express -- Sure but am not convinced this rates a mention at WWDC unless introduced with Apple TV iPhone 6 -- Embrace it, all 20% chance of it happening It's the Dream announcement, of course. Unlikely? Yes.

Back on the 25 of May, Wall Street Playbook, one of the rags featured on Google Finance, had an article titled "Apple Caught Stealing Beats". The substance of the article was that Apple saved a lot of the purchase price by using offshore cash. I wrote a comment that said,"Did Samsung pay for this headline?". Their reply? "Yes". Priceless.

I watched the full Re/code interview this morning. Iovine is very watchable and had some great one-liners...though his impression of Lennon's Liverpudlian accent was a bit weak. I first saw Iovine several years ago when he was on American idol and was impressed. The interview continues to confirm that this guy gets it. He can bring a real interesting take to apples music business. While Iovine is obviously entertaining, clever and successful, after watching numerous videos of him my underlying impression of this impresario is that he is a bit of a money guy, a bit of a hustler and not exactly someone who I would trust.

He may have been somewhat of a god to us but SJ was indeed fallible ... we tend to forget his mistakes. Schmidt was a mistake in my opinion...Iovine not so much.

I'd like to see something new tomorrow a la iHome(automation) and/or big Apple TV update with great gaming features along with all the normal stuff at these conferences. I'd be happy to wait until Sept for the new iPhone and the iWatch in the fall - space out some great new releases. This has been a great year so far for Apple and it's going to continue to show throughout the year why it's the greatest company on the iPlanet.
One thing that really needs a home run improvement though is SIRI. I've watched her lose her lustre over the last year or two and I'm baffled as to why. With the resources that Apple has behind it, I'm really disappointed in how she's evolved from something that was very cool & practical to something whose response seems to continue to deteriorate as time goes on. Another typical example today..."Map 1652 Old Church Rd." SIRI - " I found 7 churches that are close to you."
If SIRI is going to be integrated with a lot of the new products being released they'd better make a substantial improvement to her responses.
Has anyone else been disappointed in her progress (or regression)?

No Disqus, no sale. Sometimes, "looks nicer" doesn't mean "works better". At all.

I agree, they hosed Apple 2.0 v. 2.0, big time.
But, I think we'd all agree that PED has been a mostly positive ray of light, in an otherwise dark, dunderhead Apple Internet commentariat.
Might be worth the hassle of creating a Livefyre account just to support his efforts. I recall that comments and page views do ingratiate him to his suit overlords, retarded as they may be.
Or should we just let Business Trollsider win?

("DOWN-VOTE - TROLL" for instance.) Agree, PED has been net objective on Apple, better than many, and that is saying something. Why exactly PED doesn't have his own place on Fortune yet, beats me. Apple tag? That's all his years of reporting get him now?

According to PED, "Apple 2.0 has apparently been retired as part of the Time Inc. spinoff from Time Warner." PED will try to make it easier to find his work and post on it.
Let's give it a week -- I think the drop off in readership will be both substantial and noticed by the Powers That Be. Pretty weird they would mess with the most prolific journalist covering Apple.

Apple tag? That's all his years of reporting get him now? F the trolls. I think the regulars put them in their place. The point of comments is the page views for PED's masters, not the message. PED is the one who gets the Apple message out to the casual reader (who doesn't read comments anyway - those are for the Apple vs. Fandroid flame wars). PED is fair and knowledgable. Like Walt Mossberg; not perfect, but magnitudes better than most of the retards out there, and about as good as one can expect from the MSM. I say, we are better off with PED, so support him, and continue to swat the Mosquitos in the comments.
