Not to be a buzzkill or anything, but remember that there is a huge call wall expiring in two days, and almost no puts to backstop the EO's, especially above 670. I'll wait until tonight to post current numbers. But if I were legging into a spread (something I don't do much any more), I'd think about the short end first.
I do think that iPad Mini reports fueled our uptick today, but IMO, any real bounce into sentiment mode will require an actual Apple invite announcement. Unfortunately, I was hoping for this run-up from 700, not to 700. It's almost as if the EO's knew this was coming and purposely tanked the stock with FUD in preparation for it.

How about this, "Lord Lovey's Castle." Where everyone knows her to be a benevolent overlord.

I swear to you all, I did not see this story until after I posted the comment below. This is why people like Doug Kass are either dumb, or intentionally lying to talk their books - or both. It was reported over a year ago by several sources that the iPhone 5 was Jobs' "last project." The iPhone 5 was reportedly the last Apple phone to get Steve Jobs’ blessingFull Businessweek articleOf course the stupidest line, one that proves that Kass doesn't do his research, is this notion that Jobs wouldn't have let the iPhone 5 out the door so light. Several reports and logic dictate that the iPhone 5 was Jobs' last main project. Obviously there were some internals to be tinkered with, but the main design? The lightness? That's all SJ. I'm sure Jobs also signed off on several other less-finished prototypes in the pipeline before he died, which people will also say Jobs wouldn't have approved of. Dumb bunnies. Is mr. Kass' complaint about how light the iPhone 5 is not odd in that it counters one of the most common and highly praised attributes of the same product - it's lightness while feeling incredibly solid and stable? How odd..he wants "a lead weight" added to a device I have to hold up to my ear for long periods? Maybe he thinks it should double as a fishing sinker? Or maybe he does not think...

No kids/wife, no debt, 26 yr old, and I'm an engineer for NASA. I can afford some option calls. I know it's different for everyone. Thanks Yeah, but do you own one of these? ;D I have an amazing NASA patch collection. Way before your time, but I used to love watching the Apollo rockets lift off. Apollo 15 launched on my B-day and dad got me in to see things up close. 8 years old and remember it like yesterday. Are you in Florida? I am from Cocoa Beach, born at Patrick AFB. I know you could be many places, just curious.

Looking for a steady stream of green today. Our week wil be determined by tomorrow's jobs report though. At least IMO. Tonight's debate will be a good lead in to that. Two things: Friday's Jobs report could have an important impact of Friday's OE, and investing further out. I'd like to ask everyone to be on the watch for that report Friday morning, and post IMMEDIATELY. A new subject under the heading of "Friday's Jobs Report" would be nice. Then the other thing. I posted this over on the Braeburn forum:

The UE number comes out before the market opens. I can't see it being out of line with expectations. Not saying it won't go up, especially after last weeks surprise, but it is a government agency reporting and there is an election in a month. Just sayin

Isn't that the band that played at the last Apple event...The FUD Fighters? Foo Fighters. Who, by the way, just decided to go on "hiatus" today. Interesting choice for Apple's event, right before they were about to announce this. In other news, hello again $671!

Kind of hard for WS to include in any numbers. It does not even exist and does not have a sales price. When Apple reports it will be included, but I don't believe it will have any impact. Once the curtain is dropped, WS will model.

Nick Nansen has a new blog up tonight that I believe is worth reading, "US Stock Market and the Robber Barons, Where’s the SEC?" nanseninvestments.com/Nick asks how does one survive. The answer can be quite simple, IMO, which is good because I am a simple man. Here is kinda sorta what I do, and please consider it non-advice. Buy LEAPS within 5-10% of the money with at least 16 months or so to expiration. Step into to each position with at least 2-4 buys. If going out to Jan 2015, maybe go a little farther out of the money, if you want to. Keep some cash available. When there is a WTF sale, buy some at/near the money calls 6-9 months to expiration. Harvest gains in Apple periodically and put some of the gains into income-oriented investments. I have chosen dividend paying stocks. Average yield on cost for my current positions is about 5%. But I am sure some of you boys and girls have better ideas

How about this, "Lord Lovey's Castle." Where everyone knows her to be a benevolent overlord. I prefer my signature: LOVEY'S PLACE There should be no DOUBT, that She Who Must be Obeyed and appreciated, is in charge! I call it Lovey's Place, because THIS is a Bar. This is a rowdy bar at times, but everyone is invited. My post in the dungeon explains our present location. aaplfinance.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=dungeon&thread=32&page=1#1895The part: "She Who Must be Obeyed" is from the television show, Rumpole of the Bailey. The main character Horace Rumpole, an aging London barrister, secretly calls his wife Hilda "She Who Must Be Obeyed". Horace says it with deep respect, and is always aware of his own foibles. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rumpole_of_the_BaileyI think the total phrase speaks for itself and lets new members know where they are!

While technically, pain range is 665-670, 665 is so close in calls vs puts, I'm calling the range 660-670: Strike | Calls | Puts | 660 | 7,166 | 10,125 | 665 | 7,361 | 7,649 | 670 | 11,280 | 6,113 |
