All - been peeking in on posts but clearly my head is not in the markets these last few days. I believe we are out of the woods on my husband's condition and he is scheduled for a second surgery on Monday. Sometimes I just stay at the hospital and sometimes I come home...my life has been turned a bit upside down right now. But I don't want to look back - just forward. Hopefully - if all goes well on Monday's surgery - he may only need another week in the hospital (that's best case). ... could be longer. So bear with me. I so appreciate that you have kept us in your prayers and I can't wait till things are back to what will be my new normal.
Liked how AAPL closed on Thursday ... we'll probably see continued strength into next week. Do we know when earnings day is yet? When I talk to my hubby about AAPL it takes his mind off all else. Life is such a roller coaster....so many ups and downs. I would never consider myself a victim of hardship or heartache - "stuff" happens in everyone's life. It just happens to be my turn right now ...but this too shall pass and I will adapt. Some of the best lessons in life are drawn from childhood fairytale books, particularly Peter Pan..."Think happy thoughts" .... "Life is the biggest adventure of all" .... this gets me by each day.
xoxo Phoebes ... thanks again .

Best wishes Phoebear. Benedict Evans has been tweeting about recent mobile usage data from Baidu in China: "On Baidu's data Apple is now the biggest brand by use on the Chinese mobile internet. 23.4%. Impact of China Mobile" Baidu data for Apple's share of mobile internet use:

In Hong Kong you go to the Apple Store for your wedding photos....don't tell me about status in the culture...

Hope all goes as well as it possibly can, Phoebear Yes, I have a good friend who just broke a vertebrae and is paralyzed from the waist down. I am optimistic that once the swelling goes down his ability to walk will come back. Optimistic for your husband P. Hope things go well.

If you are thinking of picking up a bride there......maybe better places.....keep dragging your Mac Pro to Starbucks. It's impressive and says I'm powerful". But remind the ladies it's not a trash can for their discarded mocha whip, double shot lite vanilla frap cups. ( kind of looks like one though).

Noticing something interesting and wanted to get some input. I picked some random strike points and compared Jan 15 prices with Jan 16 prices.
Strike Jan 15 Jan 16 Diff $57.41 36.55 36.10 0.45 $70.00 21.69 25.35 3.66 $90.00 8.50 12.82 4.32 $100.00 4.12 8.55 4.43 $110.00 1.85 5.90 4.05
The difference for the same strike point 12 months later just seems too low. With a difference between 0.45 and 4.43, it just seems crazy cheap to buy the Jan 16 LEAPS.

The deep ITM calls are traded thinly so bid/ask prices are deceptive. At least I think that's what is going on. I'm more inclined to go into the stock than trade into the Jan 16s.
All the news is good this weekend. I'm optimistic with AAPL this week if the market cooperates as a whole (no reason to think it won't at this point).

That does seem a little odd to me since that means there is close to zero time premium in them. And the Jan '15 57.14s are trading at 36.50/36.95 which is even odder because it has a negative time premium at the current stock price. In theory, you could short the stock and buy/exercise the option and make a few pennies guaranteed (in practice you cannot because there are all sorts of costs involved in all those transactions).

Does anyone else see the future as I do?

Does anyone know how to say, "thanks for getting me fired, NY Times" in Mandarin?
