My preference for the Porsche 918 is three-fold:
1. Naturally aspirated motor (vs. the P1's turbo) 2. Longer range (the P1 has an EV range of 6 miles) 3. Design
Plus, who's going to work on the McLaren when it needs it? Finally, the 918 will let you buy a nice "car tender" with the $200k savings.
I guess that's five reasons; The Porsche had me at #1.

We'll see what the algos count. My guess is that this little orgy sends us back down to 92. Car thread talk was originally seen as a sign of a bubble, i.e., everyone is getting rich on AAPL options so we can all buy more cars. It was never supposed to be some cause of AAPL tanking. It's like TA. "CA." Does Leno have an F1? In my mind that is still the most desirable car since the 1966 Lamborghini Muira. You mean a McLaren P1? Leno had the first one in the US. My car is affordable and it's a hybrid to boot. It burns both gas & rubber. :-) Do you have a Cobra replica? I got a look at a nice one the other day. I was surprised how small they are. Nice and light. Funny, the Cobra was #1 on Matt Farah's list of cars that want to kill you.
In Apple news, I am starting to contemplate the 5.5" iPhone. Decisions, decisions...

Here's how Apple's stock could rise 50%finance.yahoo.com/blogs/talking-numbers/here-s-how-apple-s-stock-could-rise-50-195316634.htmlIn the Talking Numbers - CNBC Yahoo Finance article they talk about AAPL outperforming the S&P YTD and say: “That kind of outperformance could actually continue especially if we see the stock get above final resistance which is right above $100,” Stockton said, looking at a nine-year chart of Apple. “A breakout above that level and you could arrive at technical target of about $144 which would obviously be a very impressive upside with a very long-term time horizon.” Wondering how they arrive at $144, any chart guys care to help me understand? Are they just drawing a trendline from 2005-2014 along the highs and what could the vague "very long-term time horizon" be? FYI: I'm long since 2006 and not looking to sell any shares Thanks Sitting in a bar racking up a 150 dollar scotch tab and feeling sauced lol Without actually looking at a chart I would guess 140-150 would be looking at a cup and handle. If we flag here at all time highs (kinda sorta happening) the MM is the depth of the cup pretty much - that's 45 ish points (or let's say 705-385ish pre split) Cheers everyone

I'm riding the wave to iphone announcement - then will unload all options and buy shares. Will sell covered calls against them I am planning to unload my options closer to December, convert to shares, and then buy bull call spreads with the anticipation of the share price rising over the next several quarters. Just curious why you are going with covered calls. Just picking prices where you don't mind your shares getting called away?

So is a 5.5" display use like 60% or whatever more power than the 4.7" display on the iPhone 6? It's all rumors right now but I'm skeptical. Apple might boost real-world battery life by at least an hour over the 5S. And maybe throw in a power saver mode. Contrary to Samsung's ads that will probably be enough.

By comparison, the Galaxy S5 battery is 2800mAh.
A rumored 2915 mAh battery in a 5.5" iPhone? Given that Apple knows a thing or two about software and creating efficiencies with power usage, look for a significant bump in battery life.

But then they say "small" 1800ish mAh battery in the BigPhone 6 with 4.7" display.
At this point I'll wait for the teardown. Battery life is "good enough" now and should remain that way or improve for the next gen.

If all Samsung and blackberry have on iphone is that their battery life sucks - good luck to these guys. Apple will fix that over next 2-3 years. I still think new iphone gets wireless charging

Yes. The truth is apple knows all of its weaknesses. They just come up with solitons that turn them into strengths.

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Hedge-fund legend Leon Cooperman bought more than 1.26 million shares of Apple AAPL, +0.49% and more than 5 million shares of private-equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts KKR, -2.08% in the second quarter, according to a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission submitted on Thursday. Both were new positions. The filing, which details holdings as of June 30, revealed the head of hedge fund Omega Advisors trimmed holdings of Sprint S, -0.35% by around 3.452 million shares to just under 40 million shares. Among other new holdings, Cooperman reported nearly 1.09 million shares of Sea World Entertainment SEAS, +3.67% which fell sharply on Tuesday after cutting its full-year sales outlook. Cooperman also added more than 5 million shares of grocery chain Supervalu Inc. SVU, -2.92% bringing his total position at the end of the second quarter to just shy of 7.35 million shares.
