Nothing wrong with three green weeks in a row, especially when the last one also includes pocketing the quarterly dividend. This article on the WATCH is a clear indicator that the anal-ists have no idea how to assess it, with 2015 unit estimates ranging from Maynard Um's 6 million to Brian White's 41 million (!!!), especially combined with the difficulty of guessing the ASP given the wide variety of options and price points available. Also starting to hear from Ms. Ahrendts, who surely was hired exactly for this roll-out, as well as her demonstrated capabilities running a worldwide retail operation. There should be much speculation between now and "spring 2015." The bar is open. A toast to staying green!

Really, a solid week. As I mentioned in the intraday, AAPL did well during November 2013 and may perform well in November 2014, what with all the bigger things in front of it this time, such as blockbuster iPhone 6 sales, Apple Pay, resurgent Macs and the promise of iWatch, not to mention lower open interest, a split and a BIG change in sentiment.
That's rational thinking though -- is there more of that for AAPL's next leg up?
Cheers to the longs.

Maybe Apple told IBM to put on its big boy pants and accept the deal.

Funny how sanitized and PC this expression has become. In my fraternity days - and to this day, whenever drinking with a frat brother alum - it goes,
"Shed your skirt, strap on a penis, and drink!"
Don't shoot the messenger.

Don't shoot the messenger. Back in the day I was working with a designer on a project that would change the standards for a major national bank. I'd basically won the job with better pricing, quality and flexibility but the male head of facilities implied that he was sticking with the current vendor. He turned and went back to his office so he probably didn't see the designer turn about 4 shades of red. She looked at me dumfounded and said "well, I'm going to get my tits up, march in there and tell him how it's going to be". And so it was.

Red in the running for best weekend post I'm assuming for the IBM news as opposed to the cute picture... They promised an update in mid November, is it this week that the initial products will ship?

I re-read my comment, it wasn't meant sarcastically. 1% is huge for the first 17 days and considering the "limited" number of devices that can be used to pay with it presently. I was in Walgreen's last night and the Apple Pay logo came up when I came to pay, unfortunately I have the 5s and until the Watch is released I can't use it, but at least I clocked the logo when paying.

My company has IBM as a major vendor. Planning at our firm has begun and the implied( as of now) benefits will be dramatic. Sorry to be cryptic but can't say more now.

Nexus 9 $399 LOLOL
Google may not do as well as others think next year. And if it actually wants to take on iPad by proxy (read: Nexus series), it's not doing a very good job of it

Yeah, it's a scandal about 5 magnitudes larger than the press it's getting. Imagine the mainstream media reaction if a George Bush crony was let off with a slap on the wrist like that by his AG. And this is Rolling Stone writing the story, not National Review. Taibbi soft-pedals the Obama-Dimon connection, but all you have to do is Google it. JPM was Obama's 4th largest donor in 2008, and you'll see all the other banks on there too. RS also never mentions that, had all the borrowers not lied on their loan applications (a federal crime), none of this would have happened. Texas is proof of that (Texas has much stricter income verification standards, so the housing crash passed it by). But of course it is more fun to blame the rich white guys running banks. Since we're talking scandals, the Forex price-fixing conspiracy didn't get much coverage either. For those here who claim that markets can't be rigged, well, here's several banks admitting to it. I'm dumping Chase banking this week (although I will keep my Chase Amazon and Ink Visas).

I assume this I just the iOS-ification of stuff they already mostly have.

Thanks for sharing. And CHASE is a bank that declined to give me a mortgage on a condo because of questions about the building (nonsense). My credit score is 800+ and I'm a private client, with 25% down. As I was leaving (before getting the deal done elsewhere), I said it was too bad it wasn't 2008 and all I had to do was fog a mirror. Are bankers embarrassed much? What chutzpah... CHASE is a joke, as most banks are, sadly. Politics and money and business is a toxic stew that is ruining democracy.

Incidentally the Global HQ of ARM is only 15 minutes drive from the Cambridge offices Apple are reportedly occupying. My nephew, who is studying Computer Science at Cambridge University, had a summer job there this year.

Well, they're starting to figure it out. Amazon, on the other hand... JD, stop buying vaults via Amazon Prime just to return them.

You failed the morals clause. Is anybody paying attention to Skyworks Solutions (SWKS). Good earnings and outlook...

See below for a link to Mav's uptake on iOS' opportunity in 2015, courtesy of Sammy's struggle. In the battle of platforms, it is Apple v. Samsung. With iOS, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts (hardware + software), due to the integration with iPad and now with Yosemite, Apple's computers. I've said for awhile that iPhone 6 will have more legs than its predecessors, so Apple's sales/earnings look very strong in YOY compares all the way through June, at a minimum. Forget about Windows Mobile: you can stick a fork in it -- it's done. aapltree.wordpress.com/2014/11/08/additional-notes-on-the-great-smartphone-war-in-the-us-comscore-data/
