Good morning everyone. AAPL and the major indices are all RED. AAPL is trading at 109.10 -0.23 (0.21%) at 6:38. OK, the holiday window is now behind us. OE in 2 week. Earnings in 3. When will AAPL launch? Little in the news this morning: DED has an excellent retort to the latest Apple lawsuit at AppleInsider in Apple's iOS 8 storage is actually far more efficient than Google's Android, Samsung's Galaxy, Microsoft Windows. Of course, saying your neighbor is worse than you isn't always the 'best' strategy in legal entanglements. Of course, we have Gary Allen a Forbes Contributor with I'm Not using Apple Pay -- But It's Not My Fault. Apparently Gary lives in a bubble... most major retailers I shop at accept Pay -- even if unintentionally because they already have ECR scanners. Of course, I haven't shopped at Target since they lost my credit card data. One would think someone who says he is on his 4th credit card would be more discerning in where he shops. As long as we're discussing BI and animal parables... Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while... Have a great day. Let's make money.

Hi guys. Was a member few years back and then went away during the "dark days". Came back a year ago as a dedicated lurker. Have quick technical question I'm hoping one of you could help me with. I used to follow the forum on my iPhone with the ProBoards app. It disappeared off my phone about a week ago and I don't see it in the app store anymore. Assuming it was discontinued? Anyway, everything seems to point me toward the Tapatalk app for forums now. But for the life of me I can not find the AAPL Finance Board on that app no matter how many ways I serach. I just don't have the skill set!!
Does anyone use this app and know how to find the board? Or a different app? Any help greatly appreciated. Not sure how I will get through the days without the updates from JD, Red, Mav, etc.
Thanks!

From a technical perspective, AAPL is at a critical juncture. A bounce here would be a double bottom with the Dec low. A drop lower than this would be a break of the double bottom, and who knows where we would land...

All eyes are looking at this, 50% says bounce, 50% says break down, btw, first test is usually bounce, so should not be construed as the former is correct.

Huh, I hadn't noticed.
Did you ever back up your phone to iTunes? Even if it's not in the store, it should still be there.

I'm not worried, since my cost basis is in the pennies and I am out of options until 1/21 at the earliest. Just a feeling of general disgust and contempt for the irrational lemmings. Somewhere, there's a bottom, and it's going to be glorious for those who buy it. Hang in there peeps; a massive quarter is about to be announced in about three weeks.

When do we think earnings will be announced? It could be as early as 20-Jan based on history. Or as late as 29-Jan. I'm surprised that you timed your earlier trades (re: wash sales, etc) to preclude further moves till 21-Jan. I suppose there was no choice in the matter

I do still have a working App (version 1.8) but I can also not find it on the AppStore. It is listed as one of my bought Apps, but clicking on it just ends in an endless loading loop!? So you should probably complain at the developer (ProBoards Inc.) or Apple. P. S. Typing this in the App is a pain. It cannot even scroll!

If you aren't into this mumbo jumbo you can ignore but remember that short term traders and some algos react on this so at least be aware: The 30, 50 and 100 day SMA have been taken out one after another. The 200 day SMA is down at approximately $95. I'm still learning the Fibs but it seems that the levels are: $105, $101, $97 and $95, (worst case). I'm not sure which it will be nor do I need to catch the absolute bottom - I'm fine to catch it on the way up - depending on which of those it bounces from you will hear the trucks revving up as they back up for a heavy load! LOTS of buyers getting ready. Been reading several technical threads and that's where they are. If you recall, I had posted before Christmas that some of the better technicians I follow were debating if it was $95 or $105 for the bottom. Mace pointed out that you could drive a truck through that spread before he bowed out before the holidays but that's where these techies are. Just sharing.

When you search for AAPL Finance Board then tap the little clock and the timeline comes up instead of the page being blank. Have you figured it out?

What the hell, I decided to BTFD. Actually, I converted (3) Jan 15 $75 calls into (10) Jan 16 $116 calls. I was toying with the idea of exercising those for some "free" (Thurmann-esque) common shares but this felt like a decent sale price. May not be the bottom but at least I bought some breathing room.

When it comes to AAPL, as opposed to Apple, the Space/Time Continuum gets out of whack periodically. But the laws of physics and Star Trek say it all works out in the end.
For a reality check I drove over to my neighborhood Apple Store at lunch to visit with the crew and just look around. And, yes, there is still a demand for Iphones (gasp) and, yes, there are still little lines each day....and, yes, they still don't have all SKUs in stock, and, yes, they still sell a lot of what they do get each day....

Thanks for the link Artman. Over $94B returned to shareholders while only drawing down net cash by $1B. Amazing. Still have $40B left to return over the next 11.75 months (suppose we will have to wait for the conference call to see how much they were buying at ATH's). I'm sure that apple has been doing some bargain shopping this week and will continue to do so if the fire sale continues.
