THE SKY ITS FULL OF CASH Hmmm. Maybe that gold metallurgy thing is just for the case right now. But yeah, Gold Milanese mesh with magnets? Over-the-top bling. This is the catalog: www.apple.com/watch/gallery/

I'm looking for a gold version of this: They can't sell an 18K watch only with those plastic Swatch bands! Can they? My WAG/hope is that blingy bands are to Watch what memory is to iPhone, i.e., lovely lovely margin expanders. #upsell Replacement Rolex gold bands are $2K. Hell, if dog surgery is $3K, what's $2K for GOLD IS BEST??!!

I think the aftermarket will flourish with alternatives to bands offered by Apple. Frankly, the current ones are a bit of a letdown for me. It appears the buckle on a leather strap can be had in gold, but perhaps Apple hasn't shown their complete hand -- certainly the pricing will be a big reveal.

In the BTW department, Angela's makeover of Apple Retail is off to a striking good start -- the "see what you can create" theme is cool.

There is a piece in The Sunday Times here in the UK, with the title:
"Butlers help fit gold Apple watch"...
"Staff are being trained by former clothes shop executives in Austin, Texas. to offer special treatment for customers ordering the gold model...shop sales will be overseen by a butler, who will check its fit and link it to other devices".

Geez - I would expect them to make interchangeable watch bands regardless of gold or stainless steel or whatever. Cartier and Franck Muller have great little ways of changing bands on the fly with their mechanisms and that even includes gold with diamonds watches. So there should be zero reason for Apple not to give that flexibility regardless of whatever the watch is made of!

The Apple bands ARE interchangeable, with a sublimely simple click (look Ma, no tools), unlike the tortuous, tiny pins of the traditional watches.

Mercel must've ben a big Casio fan, as I was.
Obviously there are limits - you need 38/42mm bands, but if you wanted to fit that Milanese loop on a gold watch, I can't imagine Apple would make this impossible.

Must be my extra large man hands. I suppose small, dainty digits can be an advantage. I guess...lol

Looking forward to AAPL showing some strength this week. I don't think we have seen the full reaction to earnings yet.
I would have thought we had silenced all the "can't top that", or "no room left to grow" stuff by now, but its still there. As for where it will come from, here's what I think: 1) IBM partnership will drive increase in enterprise market that Apple has left on the table up until now. (my company still uses BBs) 2) China growth ahead 3) Apple Pay and the ecosystem stickiness will drive upgrades of iPhones in markets where new customer growth tapers off. 4) Apple Watch will perform and sell very well and Apple knows how to manage the launch (temper expectations, etc.). 5) Next up: Apple TV

3) Apple Pay and the ecosystem stickiness will drive upgrades of iPhones in markets where new customer growth tapers off. Agree. I still have an iPhone 4S. The only reason I want an iPhone6 is ApplePay.
