It's 7:00 AM and Since84 isn't around. So I'm giving it a shot! Except Shanghai, all of Asia is down. All of Europe is down. Our futures are down by 75 points. Tech is being hit and, of course, our darling AAPL is also down. Now at 134.66. That's almost 2 bucks off yesterday's close. 9to5Mac has iPhone 7 Plus catches fire. Wondering if this is adding to AAPL's PM sell-off. AppleInsider has New 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros may arrive later in May. They're calling it a "questionable" report. These are the two main attention-grabbing headlines. Please add more if you see something interesting. If AAPL bucks the downward trend today and manages to hold strong, I'll view it as a positive sign and expect a run again next week. As Since84 says: "Let's make money"!

From the 9 to 5 Mac Story...
I'm not saying that this girl's phone didn't rupture or that the pictures aren't real. I'm sure they are. However, the quote she gave to Mashable seems a little off, and made me question her story. Maybe it's because she's 18, or maybe she just got a poor recap from her boyfriend. Who knows. Here is her quote for those who haven't read the story:
"The next morning I was asleep with my phone charging next to my head, my boyfriend grabbed the phone and put it on the dresser," she said via a direct message on Twitter. "He went the the [sic] restroom ... and from the corner of his eye he saw my phone steaming and [heard] a squealing noise. By the time he got over to the phone it had already caught fire, he quickly grabbed the phone and threw it in the restroom ... as soon as he threw it in the restroom is [sic] blew up and more smoke started coming out of the phone."
First, if the boyfriend grabbed the phone, only to notice it smoking and squealing which couldn't have been more that a few seconds later, did he not notice that the phone was hot? So perhaps this 'explosive' reaction occurred immediately after he put the phone down on the dresser. Hmmm....
Next, she says that the phone had already caught fire by the time he got over to it. Okay fine. I don't see any charred marks on the phone (other than the melted interior), so I'm a little surprised flames were coming out. But whatever.
Then, he grabs the flaming phone and throws it into the restroom. Not sure what he used to grab it, but there was no mention of burned hands. So maybe he used a towel. Okay. Good throw I guess.
His throw also managed to not crack the screen? It did have a case....must have been a good one. But if someone is trying to remove a burning item from somewhere, I don't see it causally being lobbed into the restroom.
The video shows the phone propped up on the bathroom counter. Smoking. Did he go back and pick up this flaming phone again, that just "blew up" just to prop it up on the counter? Why not just take the video while it's (presumably) on the floor.
Maybe these kids just had some bad luck and everything happened as they said. Maybe they damaged the phone themselves, causing the battery to rupture, and then they fabricated a story in order to get a new phone from Apple? After all, how many 18 year olds can just go out an buy another 700-800 dollar phone?
Just my random thoughts on the matter, but I wouldn't be surprised if we later find out that the investigation puts some or all of the blame on the phone owners.

Nice reversal. (Nothing compared to what AVGO did today, but nice.) taking RSI down but still holding levels is nice

Slight 136 call wall. Will AAPL hold? The 137 wall is too strong. But after the weak PM action, the fact that AAPL held up well and even pushed higher to close green and at its high for the day is a win. I'm looking forward to next week's run.

I'm getting destroyed on my puts. Congrats to the apple longs and Faithful. Here is what I see on the horizon. Look at the red boxes and our current setup. Comments welcome.

I'm looking forward to next week's run. Absolutely. Any Friday AAPL finishes green is a good day, and this Friday looked red most of the day. Plus the shortened week works in favor of call walls, and we're still up WoW. Hopefully we can break out Monday-Tue. to the longs (and to the evil, negative waves put holders like Nagrani).

Buffett in the Berkshire Hathaway annual report published today:
"Many of our investees, including Bank of America, have been repurchasing shares, some quite aggressively. We very much like this behavior because we believe the repurchased shares have in most cases been underpriced. (Undervaluation, after all, is why we own these positions.) When a company grows and outstanding shares shrink, good things happen for shareholders."
