Katy Huberty over at MS raised PT from $161 to $177 this morning and reiterates "Overweight". "Proprietary survey shows U.S. iPhone loyalty rate climbing from 88% to 92%, dwarfing competitors," she writes.

From PED this morning:
"I've been tracking the 13fs filed by the 20 largest Apple funds for the past four quarters and have discovered something interesting. While the press was focused on the big bets on Apple by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, the action by a much bigger fund has gone largely unnoticed.
Over the past four quarters, it's the BlackRock funds whose trading most closely aligns with action in Apple's share price: down last summer, up this spring. The pattern should be clearer going forward, now that three BlackRock funds have been consolidated into one."

Don't like the statement,"aligns with action in Apple's share price: down last summer, up this spring." (Re: my bold).

Trump impeachment talk is picking up steam. Be careful out there... Whether or not we get to actual impeachment there's a growing sense of chaos and crisis at the top of our government. That kind of situation is never good for the markets, and specific to Apple the dream of repatriation is looking less and less likely. As usual I'd expect the lemmings to run for the exits in the short term. Hang on to your hats.

Beginning of a deleveraging risk-off market correction, or a temporary blip? Nobody knows... step right up, place your bets.

The whitehouse is burning. It will get worse. Whoever thought a character like Trump in his current 'job' would be a good idea was/is delusional. Rip off the orange bandaid already.

When there is chaos in Washington, it IS financial news. No way to separate it, with the current state of affairs.

WE HAVE a great place to place all things Political... It is called the dungeon. Respect your fellow posters. PLEASE!!! What do you think the cause of this selloff is? I for one won't ignore the potential consequences of presidential obstruction of justice and serious talk of impeachment proceedings. Or are we only allowed to talk about the potential positives of this administration such as tax breaks and repatriation? I don't see any admonishing when those topics are brought up. Probably because we practically all agree on those topics, but the point of this forum is not to have an environment where everyone pats each other on the back and agrees with each other. Or is it? PS: This board is very inactive anyway, with just a handful of posts a day. I wouldn't mind a little more activity even if it isn't 100% AAPL focused.

Shows how unhinged the left is. They'd destroy the country and its institutions because they are still feet-stompy and petulant over the election.
Disagreeing with the President or thinking he's doing a bad job isn't even a light year within the grounds for impeachment. That's banana republic shit.
It's all a fantasy. Republicans control Congress. Trump isn't going anywhere so be adults and deal with it.

I just hope we do get to see his tax reform actually come into effect someday, preferably sooner than later.

Doesn't mean there isn't potential for a lot of pain in the short term as all this uncertainty plays out. If impeachment proceedings move forward, it will get ugly.

I have to add, AAPL, AMZN, GOOG, FB will all be ripe targets for scaling back exposure thanks to the recent boom.

Tax reform or anything else isn't going to get done until this plays out. Senate will stop anything and everything to redirect the focus on Trump in hot water.

You may well be right, in fact you probably are, but what a sad state of affairs that would be. The cure for Unhingemosis is to turn off CNN. Impeachment needs an underlying offense. No one knows yet if the memo exists, or if Trump's "hopes" can be illegal. While in the background of all this involves Flynn who has not even been targeted by the FBI as note in a report Jan 23 in WAPO. The FBI in late December reviewed intercepts of communications between the Russian ambassador to the United States and retired Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn — national security adviser to then-President-elect Trump — but has not found any evidence of wrongdoing or illicit ties to the Russian government, U.S. officials said. Although Flynn’s contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak were listened to, Flynn himself is not the active target of an investigation, U.S. officials said. If you are unbiased you would weight the fact that Flynn was fired because of his communications with Pence. www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/fbi-reviewed-flynns-calls-with-russian-ambassador-but-found-nothing-illicit/2017/01/23/aa83879a-e1ae-11e6-a547-5fb9411d332c_story.html?utm_term=.11178f6c46e3Why are they even talking about the Michael Flynn investigation?

Finally 11 Essential, Unanswered Questions on Comey Memo, NYT Report Congress, American people, media given very incomplete picture of allegations against president. www.lifezette.com/polizette/11-essential-unanswered-questions-comey-memo-nyt-report/(8) Why did Comey write the memo? If Comey believed that the president of the United States was trying to influence or interfere with an investigation, why did he not report this? Why did he instead write a memo to himself? Lawyers document. They are trained to document. They document so that if any question is raised about what someone said or did on a particular date, they have something to back up their own account. People document to protect themselves. Comey’s memo, according to the New York Times’ unnamed sources, quotes Comey as saying, in response to Trump’s saying he hopes the FBI can let the Flynn investigation go, “I agree he is a good guy.” The Comey memo seems clearly written to protect Comey, in the event someone should later accuse him of saying or doing something improper. Sell in May and go away

Surprised why there's no tweet yet from Trump brushing off the impeachment news as a sponsored propaganda from the opposition.

The point is, there is a good amount of worry that an impeachable offence has occurred. With Trump and the White House contradicting each other every 5 minutes and Trump not having a clue about the consequences of his actions, it's bound to happen eventually.
I don't watch TV, including CNN.

Noted by the fact that his support hangs in the mid 40's plus or minus a few since forever despite the press and democrat resistance. Obama average tenure % is the same. No more political post here from me sorry. The Dow down 1.5% no big deal. EDIT: One thing I left out. The FBI publically ended the Flynn investigation on Jan 24th. The Comey memo is dated mid Feb I believe. There would be no reason for Trump to ask for a "stop" to the investigation. There wasn't one to stop. Thus the memo must be fake. NYTimes has some explaining to do.

NYTimes has some explaining to do. You're terribly confused if you think Flynn is no longer part of the FBI investigation into the Trump campaign and Russia. Flynn himself asked for immunity at the end of March! Not only is he being investigated by the FBI, he's also being investigated by the House and Senate intelligence committees, the Senate Judiciary Committee, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and probably others! Where are you getting your news?? As for Apple, if anyone here is betting on tax reform to happen soon, you might want to start questioning the odds on that.
