Fortunately, AAPL recovered reasonably well from the mid-week panic over the volatile US political situation. As another member recently posted, I would not at all mind a period of consolidation here in the 150's for a while. One thing that does have me disappointed, if not outright concerned, is the status of the new campus. Perhaps it was just my usually optimistic tendencies, but I had hoped that the targeted April 1 date would produce more of an increase in product-related activities. Now I am thinking that Labor Day might be more realistic, although there was the recent speculation that one or more Mac releases may accompany WWDC in mid-June. On the other hand, excitement over the Fall iPhone release(s) continues to build. I am still betting on iPhone, iPhone Plus and iPhone Pro; I for one will be happy to leave the numbering system behind. Right now my biggest worry is possible economic disruption due to political drama. But perhaps folks will need shiny new objects to take their minds off of real world chaos.

If we could only apply this to politics right now we would all be better off IMHO: “Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see.”― Benjamin Franklin
Hope we recover more - it's always the case that it plummets on the way down and crawls on the way up...ugh.

Saw that article. Tough call by Apple either way, maybe they will add a corporate daycare in the future, just not in the new headquarters building. Just to add, I personally would prefer my children attend daycare close to home and not subject them to the daily commuting stress.

Thanks Chinacat. Actually, I got distracted by the barber setting the clients hair on fire and forgot about the article. Now that I read it, I don't follow the articles logic. I would interpret it as Apples decision to make it harder for those with children to neglect them by leaving them in a convenient daycare. Making the parents leave work to pick up the child makes it more likely that the parent will have a balanced life and not burn out. At least IMHO.

I would have guessed that the point of the article was that it would be a plus in the Silicon Valley recruitment battles, but a quick scan of the Web indicates that almost none of the top tech companies even subsidize childcare, never mind having it on-site. Perhaps it was just an excuse to bash Apple. Nah, that's never happened before.
