AAPL is lagging again. I think the negative iPhone 8 rumours are starting to have their effect, as these are coming from some pretty decent sources (Gruber, Kuo, Gurman).
Perdormance/yield issues with embedded Touch ID? Touch ID on the back? On the side? No Touch ID at all? Inductive charging problems? 3D camera problems? A lot of uncertainty considering it's mid-July. I get the feeling the phone is going to be delayed a few months. Won't matter much in the long term but could have see a violent reaction in the short terms if the bad news gets confirmed.

I agree Tuffet. These rumors continue to unfold. I am not sure which features even matter the most.
Apple may have put itself in a corner trying to come up with a special Flagship anniversary iPhone.

Summer is a hectic time for many folks. In addition, I think that, like me, some may feel that AAPL will be fairly static until the drums start beating in late summer for the new releases. Or maybe I have just driven them all away ;-) If I'm secretly rooting for AAPL to stay in the $140's until August dividends are paid, so the auto-reinvested AAPL dividends in our IRA's will buy more shares, does that make me a bad person? Are you secretly Tim Cook? I ask, because I think he feels the same way you do (about the price, not the dividend). Wouldn't surprise me if Apple buys back stock and/or limits buybacks to keep the price just about here relative to the market so that he gets all of his performance-based stock vesting this August.

And yet AAPL is holding up pretty darned well today so far - not dropping 3% on rumors as seen in the recent past.

I, for one, refuse to believe that Apple is stuck with serious iPhone 8 issues. If they are indeed having "issues" with features, it must be with the ones related to the 2018 model and not the one that's to be launched in two months.
If I remember correctly, TC had said that they're usually working on the next model of their products a year in advance. So if they're having any hiccups at all, it must be regarding the heavy volume of iPhone 8's production and distribution.
Apart from that, if there's one special thing they're really working hard on right now, it must be the much-anticipated launch of the 10th anniversary iPhone in the Steve Jobs theater.

When did Apple say anything about a "special Flagship anniversary iPhone"?!??? Did I miss something? The part that I disagree with the most is any implication that the 10th anniversary iPhone will be a unique one-off. I will be very surprised if there are not three standard models going forward. As you know, I believe that they will be called iPhone, iPhone Plus, and iPhone Pro, with the model year taking the place of the numbering scheme going forward. BWDIK

I guess many of us, from reading so many articles, just assumed that this was Apple's intent.

BWDIK Agree with this, it makes sense and matches better with the rest of the lineup.
