Nice to see us pushing above 160 on an otherwise non-exciting day. Any thoughts on further upside? I went to the AAPL Technical section on the forum and noticed its been mostly dead since 2014. We appear to be nearing the top of the long-term trading bands. That would indicate at least some short-term risk of a down-turn, no? Where did all the TA folks go???

Reuters:
Taiwan suffered a massive power blackout on Tuesday evening that hit businesses and residential homes, affecting close to seven million households, the government said.
The overall impact of the power cut to companies on the island, home to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC), the world's largest contract chipmaker and a major supplier to Apple Inc, was not immediately known.

However, no loss of power occurred at HSP, where huge energy consuming plants such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) and its smaller rival United Microelectronics Corp. are located, the park administration said. goo.gl/QHRuFi

Hi all,
I've been a member on this board since it's inception and was on the old MacObserver forums for years before that .... I HAVE to share this with the board.
Firstly, it's got a political bent so please excuse that ..... I'm really NOT trying to stir the pot as I feel political discussions on message boards are a huge waste of time ... so once again I'm not trying to start a political discussion.
Earlier this morning I decided to email Tim Cook regarding the president's council , my email was brief and after thanking him for the great job he has done leading Apple I asked him to please reconsider his position on the board. He emailed me back ...... simply told me he has NOT joined the council .... after a quick internet search (was curious as to why I thought he did) I found out that he never officially joined the council. I sent him a follow up email apologizing for my error , so while I feel kind of stupid for not knowing that I was really impressed he took the time to write me back ..... for an Apple fanboy like myself it's quite a treat !
In any case , just wanted to share .... and really I don't want to start any political arguments.
Cheers to the longs !!!
Pretty great day .... ATH and an email from Tim !!!!!!

Hey, great news!! UBS analyst Steven Milunovich says, "Apple is likely worth $175 within *three* years"!! Now granted, this was written back on March 28, 2017 but I do wonder why it's still behind a paywall when Apple is in the $161+ area. It still has, "To Read the Full Story, Subscribe or Sign In" at the bottom, which, I'm assuming, is meant to encourage folks to sign up. When I can read the first sentence of the article, which says, "While UBS analyst Steven Milunovich currently sees limited upside for Apple in the next year -- the stock may rise perhaps 5% from its current $144 -- he sees more potential over the long term", I have to wonder why Barron's Next would even keep this hanging out there and, more importantly, who would ever want to sign up to be able to read such articles. After all, the analyst that provided the basis for their article, *badly missed*, at least at this point, the rise in Apple's share price. Milunovich *guessed* that AAPL would have a limited upside but "...the stock *may* rise perhaps 5% from its current $144..." and it's already up over 12%, with 4 months left in the year.

So you're all happy that Apple is more concerned with silly virtue signaling than Apple's CEO sitting in the Cabinet Room with the president's ear. Sad!

Cook probably knew this from the start, but I think the other CEOs are realizing that having the president's ear means nothing. He's proven himself to be an utterly incompetent moron.

Silly virtue signalling? After yesterday's press conference? Seems more like imperative signalling.

How does one persons post suddenly become "you're all"? Why would you consider "simply told me he has not joined the council" signaling. Clearly a statement of fact. What makes you think he doesn't have the president's ear? "Sad!" Donald? Is that you? Are you tweeting again?
