Didn't a bunch of people already move in? It's not full yet, but obviously it takes some time to move 10,000 people?

IT IS INTERESTING to note Spotify is deleting ALL ALT WHITE/RIGHT songs from their service. What will iTUNES DO? WILL they also delete songs that refer to women as "Bitches" & "Hoes"?

It's certainly also the fault of people like me, who mostly read and rarely contribute. But on this day I feel myself longing for when we were discussing resistance levels for the stock, strategies, and future apple performance.
And I also feel myself wondering about what difference does it make when they finish putting together all the park and all the trees and everything in that building, and why is it a good thing to create an equivalence between two groups of despicable things, usually with the aim of making the most despicable and obnoxious group appear less so?

Agreed. Apart from Since84's links at the top of each page, which are great, it's become a pretty useless place for information or discussion here. Barely any talk about upcoming products. Nobody cares that Berkshire increased their AAPL stake last quarter (the market did). People with a criticial view of the stock or the company have been driven away, and this is what we're left with.

I would say that "current events" are proving to be a more interesting topic .... as much as I love AAPL and making a profit from holding this stock I'm more interested in the kind of world/country that my kids will grow up in. Basically .... political news is sucking the life out of many things . I'm still watching and reading about the market but on many days , such as today, the micro events have little to no effect .... it's all about the bigger picture. FWIW, I read the letter Tim sent and was really proud to be a shareholder. Also very happy to hear that Apple is making the donations while encouraging it's employees to also think about contributing. I think I may just send some money myself ...... Cheers to the longs ....

I also miss many of the former posters, but I disagree with your assessment of current contributors. I would humbly submit that I have posted numerous articles about AR/VR developments, and I do not even see myself as a huge user of those technologies. Admittedly, I am not a trader, so I have nothing to contribute to those discussions. Also, just because there may have been little discussion of the Berkshire purchases, that does not mean that no one cares. I think that everyone here, and the market in general, knows quite well that Uncle Warren is currently one of Apple's greatest boosters. And who is the only contributor who hides his posts? As they say, don't let the door hit you...

People with a criticial view of the stock or the company have been driven away, and this is what we're left with. I have read the theory that this increase is just reinvestment of dividends, which sounds like a good explanation for this relatively tiny amount to me.

You do certainly provide some interesting discussion points, but usually there's very little follow up from others. Myself included, because it just feels pointless most of the time. Not sure what you mean about hiding posts, or if you're referring to me. I know nothing about that.

Also true, but then discussion about "current events" is strongly discouraged by some here, and the end result is that there is little discussion about anything. This is what censorship results in. I always laugh when people insist on taking political talk to the "dungeon". When there are 5 posts a day it's not like any serious discussion is being derailed...

Apologies if I seem a bit grouchy, but the Nazis are coming to my town this weekend. Yes well I'm pretty pissed off too. With the freakin white bigots gone, the fraking hateful violent anitfa and the liberal anarchists came to the town square. They vandalized the George and Jefferson monuments if they haven't pull them down yet today. I fear the downtown shops will be vandalized and the historic district burned down. No sympathy from Tim Cook the self-righteous hypocrite who did not condemn them also, sad. sigh.

The president did NOT say what Tim said that the president said about moral equivalence.
Also, the whole topic is out of balance with what is happening in most people's lives.
I too would love to see more posts about anything Apple. I too miss many posters, and wish we had new ones.

I live in Portland, Oregon but I was stuck in Alaska at the time, leaving my wife and children at home. I called and the conversation went like this: ME: Have you seen any rioting going on? MYWIFE: Nothing yet ME: Do you think people will riot like they did in LA? MYWIFE: I don't know, it's possible. ME: Well. if they do, see if you can get us one of those big screen TV's

Turning back to more technical topics, I thought that The Myth of General Purpose Wearables gives a balanced view of the limitations and potential of wearables. I agree with the author that the health monitoring aspects could be the holy grail, particularly if the idea of sensor-equipped bands that has been mentioned previously comes to fruition and especially for the aging US population.

Nice article. I think the role of wearables is part of a much larger evolution of the IoT. While one aspect of the watch is the "computer-on-your-wrist" and all the functionality that implies, I think that the larger role will be the "Hey, here I am" role as the watch interacts with the computers embedded around it. Right now we are just seeing the beginning of this with ApplePay, but imagine all your medical history being available to the EMT who is trying to revive you, or walking into a conference room and having the computer on the wall instantly know who you are, configure itself and give you access to your files. I do not have a broad enough imagination to come up with a lot of these, but I know they are out there. The iPhone did not succeed just because of design or execution. It was the first device to put the full web in your pocket. Buy this device and you are empowered beyond belief. Anytime, anywhere. The watch can be just as empowering, but it requires the evolution of the rest of the ecosystem. This cannot happen as quickly as just making the web available, but i don't think anything can prevent it from happening. If I am lucky enough to live another 20 years, I think the world will be as different from now as now is from pre-internet 1990. And I think the watch will be at the center of it
