This article quotes two of my least favorite Apple analysts, Trip Chowdhry and Gene Munster talking about Apple needing to catch up for the "post-smartphone era." Now, I certainly do see the value of deep learning and voice assistants, but I do not see smartphones becoming obsolete any time soon. Also Chowdry's observation that “Apple has ‘zero’ product offerings for the post-smartphone era” implies that he knows exactly what is in Apple's product pipeline, which I find laughable.

Be sure to read the excellent article today by Daniel Eran Dilger (that Since84 linked) on who needs to catch up on whom. It really shows how f-ing dumb articles like the Benzinga piece are. OMG Apple is doomed because Netgear has a head start in machine-learning home assistants! LOL, Netgear.

It's interesting starting the thread. There are often articles that I agonize whether or not to include. That said, it is important to consider FUD. It provides insight into what other players are trying to achieve.

First, others may have found it more informative and worthwhile than I did. But more importantly, access to a range of opinions from various sources is always valuable. I know that I am not the only member who GREATLY appreciates the efforts you make in often opening the daily thread.

One problem is tech media is very often either techies with absolutely no business understanding whatsoever, or business people who don't know tech. Or they know neither, like Erin Burnett. While on political topics DED is insufferable, I think he's the most insightful Apple analyst alive. Some people say we don't want to hear negative stories on Apple. I just don't want to hear the same shit from the usual suspects who have never been right in their lives. When DED or Gruber say Apple is doomed, then I'll worry.

I didn't take any comments as negative. Just observing that I enjoy posting provocative items, they help to keep us on our toes, but it is a challenge.
Note that I rarely link to Business Insider.
