Not sure what this means but it looks like Google and HTC have teamed up ... or more like Google bought themselves a phone company. Well, the only thing that concerns me is how the market will receive this news .... they are already freaking out about a small software glitch on the Apple Watch .... that and now .... cue the music ..... the DEATH of the iPhone . Sheesh ..... Cheers to the longs .... Wonder how all the Android phone companies feel about this. Will there now be HTC-only features in Android?

I heard something similar about 30 years ago . . . " Apple Computer is just a toy" . . . That, and " Apple is dying, sell, sell, sell ".

I can't imagine this will sit well with Samsung ..... then again what are they going to do about it ? I really hope they decide to come out with their own operating system further fragmenting the Android ecosystem. But that's a great point you bring up .... damn shame no talking heads will think about it tomorrow .....

That was one of the criticisms of the Google Nexus and Pixel and their Motorola acquisition: They'll be Teacher's Pet at the expense of Samsung and other Android phones. But even with the gargantuan size and power of Google, they sold like cold cakes. Buying HTC is like buying a newspaper to compete with TV or the Internet. Good luck with that necromancy. My hope was that Google was actually successful enough with its own branded phones to threaten Samsung into putting all its might into Tizen, and they'd be like Iran and Iraq (root for both to lose like Kissinger). The enemy of my enemy is my enemy.
