No updates on Morgan Stanley's AAPL price targets. LOL! Thanks for the AM thread startup.

Having trouble with links this am, but reviews are panning the Watch 3 - battery life related to connection issues - a junior varsity antenna gate... Down $2+ at the moment... they'll still likely sell every one available, but it is what it is

Understand that the media will pounce on anything, but this really seems like something that should have been identified and fixed before launch.

Gruber story in his latest podcast: apparently Jony Ive had the legend "Steve Jobs Theater", which is engraved in the stonework near the hands-on area, replaced three times before he was satisfied with the visual appearance...at $50,000 a time...

Oh boy, all this because of the Watch's connectivity issues which can be solved with a software update?!
So the market has decided -- today, all of a sudden -- that the Watch is REALLY important and relevant to Apple's top and bottom line.

Mixed reviews on the watch 3. Think back a few years when Apple introduced the iPhone/first iPad how the competition and media fud all combined to trash the product and the company. A first to market quality smart touch phone/iPad. The Cellular watch is a very dangerous disruption. I foresee a period of history repeating.

I agree, this will probably get sorted out with a simple update. The bigger question is how could it happen? What kind of testing was done that no one caught this? It's getting a bit troubling that no release goes smoothly.

Any idea when the update will come?
So I presume the 22 release will still have the issu?

I'm hearing this issue has a similar tone to when you enter a poor Wifi location with a iPhone, like in a hospital or a store, you must manually turn off all Wifi to connect to better LTE strength services.

I had a limit order execute around 11am today to buy more AAPL. I didn't think the stock would dip that much, but I'll take it.

Rumor that Google will buy HTC; that HTC is going to halt the trading of its shares. Speculation is surging that Alphabet Inc.’s Google is about to acquire struggling Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC, which has seen its sales and market share evaporate over the past few years. According to the Financial Times, HTC informed the Taiwan Stock Exchange earlier this week that it will suspend trading in its shares starting Thursday due to news that is material to the company. Earlier this month, Taiwanese news outlet Commercial Timed reported that Google was finalizing an offer for HTC, saying that Alphabet’s interest was sparked by the Silicon Valley giant’s desire to "perfect [the] integration of software, content, hardware, network, cloud, [and] AI,” and Taiwan-based HTC’s poor financial position. Alternative Scenarios The report added that Google is keen to make a "strategic investment" or "buy HTC's smartphone R&D team. I've occasionally had a similar issue on iOS 10.3 and iPhone SE. It seems like this happens when phone is attempting to connect to an open network that request you Accept terms; but that Accept screen doesn't actually pop-up and display on the iPhone. The phone thinks it's fully connected to a network, but it isn't actually. Turn off Wi-Fi, then LTE works fine. It's been pretty rare. I've also stayed connected to a WiFi network with a signal yet not quite strong enough to actually have a functional data connection. There are probably trade-offs of how often the OS polls to validate connection and select best network, both in power draw and whether to display anything in the UI as a choice or setting. (There are settings on some Android phones that address this, but they aren't Apple-esque; “Aggressive WiFi to mobile handover”, "Slide down the Notification Bar and tap Your Internet connection is unstable."). RIP: Wi-Fi Assist feature iOS 9, which moved over to mobile data networks too aggressively for some users causing high data plan use and fees.

And of course, this could not possibly be because the iPhone X blew away more people than anticipated and they will all be waiting on its availability. Naaaahhhh...

In trying to understand why wireless charging seemed to be such a big deal in all of the stories about the new iPhones, especially since it was often presented as Apple "catching up to Android," I read How Qi wireless charging works, and why it hasn’t taken over yet. I still don't get it. Can anyone on the board provide more convincing information?

And of course, this could not possibly be because the iPhone X blew away more people than anticipated and they will all be waiting on its availability. Naaaahhhh... Some antidotal evidence. One of my friends was going to buy an iPhone 7 or an iPhone 8. He changed his mind. Now he's waiting for the X. The size was the issue. The X is only slightly larger than the 8, but with the screen size of the 8 Plus. Another friend is already planning on getting an X to replace his Android phone. I will also be putting an order in for an X. Maybe demand for that "really expensive" iPhone X will be very high after all. On the topic of "really expensive", I believe the price of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is only $50 less than the iPhone X (both with 64GB), yet I don't hear the out cry about how expensive the Samsung is.

I too think the size of the X is a big, positive issue.

Not sure what this means but it looks like Google and HTC have teamed up ... or more like Google bought themselves a phone company.
Well, the only thing that concerns me is how the market will receive this news .... they are already freaking out about a small software glitch on the Apple Watch .... that and now .... cue the music ..... the DEATH of the iPhone .
Sheesh .....
Cheers to the longs ....
