Thanks. Headline aside, I was pleased to see it gave two sides: Furthermore, the iPhone 8 is "even less impressive to a lot of users" than the iPhone 7 proved to be, Wolff said. He fears that the price of the phone, along with some technical issues that have cropped up, means the iPhone won't be as appealing to consumers.
"What we're starting to see is people interested in buying the [iPhone] 7 instead of the 8 because it's pretty similar and it's even cheaper, and there are some problem with the operating system," he said of the latest phone model.[then...] Meanwhile, the price of the newest iPhone model is precisely what prompted an analyst at KeyBanc Capital Markets to raise the firm's rating on the stock on Monday.
KeyBanc analyst Andy Hargreaves wrote in a report that the rollout of the more expensive iPhone X model will boost profits, and raised KeyBanc's rating on the stock to overweight from sector weight.
The firm also established a price target in the same note to clients of $187 per share, implying 16.5 percent upside from the stock's closing price on Tuesday.

Not market related, just a datapoint from the preorder trenches. Ordered the Apple Watch series 3 Nike version with LTE back on September 29th, with a promised delivery of October 27 - November 3rd. Just had my credit card charged on the 18th and "preparing to ship" notification. So they are 9-16 days ahead of schedule based on original estimates. This could indicate catching up to orders, or a drop in demand happened after the initial launch when people decided to wait for the holidays and better availability.
Upgrading from a Series 0, which is painfully slow now with the new Watch OS. I'm pretty sure this is a planned obsolescence on the part of Apple, to get as many original Watch owners impatient with their old tech and upgrade to at least the dual core Watch. Battery life has gone from 36 reliable hours to a really annoying 18 hours. Sure, it's now a collector's item, but I still expect it to JUST WORK!
When the new one arrives I'll chime back in. Interested to hear from y'all and your real world experiences. Go AAPL.
Edit: battery drop is entirely due to the software update. The drop happened day-over-day when I loaded the update. Same issue with iPhone 7 plus: battery hit is real and substantial.
