Here's my feedback on the X, which I played with for a while at an Apple Store last night.
Just beautiful. No problems with the notch - I liked the notch - it's different.
FaceID in the little demo app worked flawlessly - but since it doesn't store your face, you can't use it as you would in the real world (open the phone with a swipe and have it instantly recognize you and unlock). You have to tap a button in the little demo app and then it just tells you that FaceID worked.
The edge to edge display has to be used to be appreciated. The look and feel of it were hard to believe, even after using it for a while. It's profoundly different and profoundly better.
No problems with not having a home button, the swiping gestures were fine. Same for the app switcher. Having targeted areas at the top for notifications and the control center was also an improvement.
It all felt beautiful, physically and cosmetically, and buttery smooth. Better than any previous iPhone.
Photos on the display, predictably, looked fantastic.
The blue shift at an angle - not an issue. (Vs. the "darker" brightness shift with LCD models) It is what it is. No iPhone screen remains unchanged at an angle.
I preferred the silver to space gray - the back looks better vs. the all-black-glass, which easily looks smudged. From the front, they look essentially the same, the only difference being the black vs. silver antenna band.
/Edit1: I decided not to try dropping it from different heights to see what would happen. That would be silly and stupid - as is, the entire "fragility" argument. Some people obviously had to find something wrong with this.

I agree with everything above except for the control center. I think it’s a step back and a very awkward gesture for something that most people use many times throughout the day. I would prefer Apple devise a method for it to be accessible from the bottom of the screen (i.e. one-handed use). Reachability helps but isn’t a good enough solution.
The phone is fantastic. Text looks like it’s glued to the top of the screen, and the notch is a non-issue. I have no doubts that Apple will release a plus sized version of the X next year, and it’s going to be incredibly popular.

I assume that today’s market action is due to the tax package being delayed?

I have no doubts that Apple will release a plus sized version of the X next year... Or not! Being that the X euphoria might continue well into 2018, Apple might want to milk the X/XS cash cows as much as possible and make people wait in eager anticipation for the X Plus. No doubt! All the people around the world who are fine with the size of the Plus will go crazy. Especially China with its 'bigger is better and latest is greatest' fascination.

Great point re potential X Plus in the wings. If X sales were to soften below production capacity, and there was sufficient supply of a Plus size OLED display (and Face ID component) they could add the X Plus to the line up. Would an A11x be required for the extra pixels?
It could help FQ4. That would be late enough to avoid a chorus of customers saying "You hosed us."
While I would enjoy an SE sized mini X, I doubt there is sufficient demand.

Don't know if anyone is trading on the tax reform news, keep in mind you need to own the stock today to collect the dividend

I think the X design becomes the standard going forward and as such price will have to come down a bit. Having a plus version of the X will be necessary to keep ASPs and margins at good levels.

Would an A11x be required for the extra pixels? That's the thing about the X/8+/8. They all use the same processor, apparently at the same speed. Even though the high end version have more pixels on their screen. The benchmarks showed at the 8 did better, by a pretty small amount, than the others. I think this is why. But because the difference is relatively small, especially compared to how much faster these are than past ones, I don't think pushing a few more pixels would matter in the future. OTOH, I'm sure a new chip would be put in if available.

Don't know if anyone is trading on the tax reform news, keep in mind you need to own the stock today to collect the dividend And we find out if any of our short option trades were assigned to us ... also, have to decide today (by 8pm I think) if we want to exercise against others for our long option trades. (edit) Now they (my broker) are telling me that it has to be in by 5pm. But the person really has no clue about options. OH well, probably missed it. I have one that is worth exercising to capture the dividend.

Apple acknowledges iPhone X becoming unresponsive in cold weather, promises software fix
Thursday, November 09, 2017, 04:04 pm PT (07:04 pm ET)
The iPhone X can temporarily lose touch functionality in cold weather, Apple admitted on Thursday in response to owner complaints.
"We are aware of instances where the iPhone X screen will become temporarily unresponsive to touch after a rapid change to a cold environment," a spokesperson told The Loop. "After several seconds the screen will become fully responsive again. This will be addressed in an upcoming software update."
