CNBC reported this morning on BABA which had its blow out Singles Day - the number one American company making sales was Apple. The reporter said that Singles Day is used to also look for trends in the Chinese consumer market and from all information gathered thus far there seems to be an even further push to buy upper end products. I'm guessing this is great for Apple - at least it should be. In the meantime, the mainstream media continues to report on the frozen iPhone X screens being used in cold weather and how Apple keeps telling everyone they are working on a fix "but in the meantime don't use it in the very cold weather". WHAAAAT?! That is the stupidest thing I have heard in November in the northeast! They better hurry up and fix that before I get mine .... ugh. (I have ONE son in law and he continues to taunt me with his Samsung Galaxy ... c'mon AAPL I don't like to look bad in front of this kid ... WTF!?)

We all knew there would be some "gate". So we have coldgate now (not to be confused with the toothpaste). If this exact same scenario happened with the flagship Samsung, nobody would hear about it. The media loves to knock the big player down. Makes for a more entertaining news cycle.

Actually if you recall - Samsung had the issue of unlocking with face recognition using a photo of the person, remember? But yes - of course - you're right about the hoopla surrounding AAPL. In the meantime it's not about Apple - it's about PHOEBES! I want a flawless phone upon arrival so please work everything out before December 8th, my ETA!!!!

There are a few issues with iPhone X:
- Cold weather function - Green lines on screen edges - Crackling of speakers - FaceID getting slower?
Hope none of these turn into big issues.

Anemic volume. 175 still a wall and a "pin" in the ass.
I won't be surprised if MMs try to keep AAPL in check till this Friday's monthly OpEx.

Anemic volume. 175 still a wall and a "pin" in the ass. I won't be surprised if MMs try to keep AAPL in check till this Friday's monthly OpEx. Open interest is fairly small, considering it's a monthly. Volume (on the stock) is low today, at the end of a 3 day weekend for some. I'm not so sure a pin at 175 will hold if any real news comes out. On the cold issue, some iPhones have had trouble for years with the cold. My 5S is getting worse....not a simple pause, but shutting down in cold conditions. Even keeping it in an inside pocket, pulling it out for a quick pic on a beautiful ski day that is below freezing often makes it die. A google search says this probably happens more with an old battery. Just one more reason to upgrade... For those holding out, it looks like there may be some good deals around Thanksgiving. Target with a $250 gift card, and Walmart with a $300 one. I'll be looking at the details on those....

2018 iPhone lineupIf this is true, 2018 will be humongous! Even bigger than the "super cycle" this year is believed to be. And, if Apple can also turn the SE into the X style, it'll be the best lineup ever!

Hey! We know this guy that commented on the story! ===== Gregg Thurman said: Woulda, shoulda, coulda blah, blah, blah
Icahn made a $2 Billion dollar profit from his investment in AAPL.
I can’t count the times I left profit on the table to lock in the profit I had already made.
Icahn has nothing to be sorry about.===== Gregg was reacting to the last line of the story which said: If Icahn had held onto all his shares the difference between what he sold them for, about $5.5 billion, would now be worth $9.2 billion or $3.7 billion in additional profit.
