Good morning everyone. Markets are fluctuating this morning as the tax plan is digested. At the moment CAC and Nikkei are RED but it switches every time I look. AAPL is RED as well, trading at $173.86 -0.49 (-0.28%). In the news: Yesterday evening there were several stories about Apple slowing older iPhones, like this one in Reuters or this one at the WSJ [$]. In my humble opinion though well intended, it was a mistake for Apple to do so without telling people. It feeds the perception that Apple is consciously crippling older phones -- particularly given the many anecdotal stories operational issues following software upgrades. The Loop linked to Google Map's Moat by Justin O’Beirne. Have a great day. Let's make money.

If I were Apple, i would announce that I was not going to issue a special dividend and the regular dividend would be increased at the normal pace. The stock would then fall back to about 150 and I could do a massive buyback

Bitcoin mania is on! This time, it's Long Island Iced Tea changing it's name to Long Bitcoin....and the stock surging with the plan. "Long Blockchain, whose business has been selling non-alcoholic beverages, says it will now seek to partner with or invest in companies that develop the decentralized ledgers known as blockchain, the technology that underpins bitcoin." finance.yahoo.com/news/long-island-iced-tea-soars-140655973.htmlThat's a heck of a pivot. At the same time, if there's the demand, wouldn't it be in the current shareholder's best (short term) interest to switch it up to the current mania?

Regarding Apple intentionally slowing down older phones -- worth noting there are many people posting on various message boards that they are turning off the auto update function. Apple may have shot themselves in the foot.

That's a bizarre twist to be changing the company name like that. Surprised that the stock almost quadrupled today just for the name change?! Being that it's a very small cap such things are possible, I guess.

Bitcoin is getting crushed, and it's about time. A lot of people are going to be learning a very painful lesson.
