My fiancé wanted some Airpods for Christmas while we were in NYC in mid-December. Looked at them at the Chelsea Market Apple Store one day, and she wanted to think about it. Before leaving town on 12/16, we tried to get some from the Grand Central Station store. Nope. All sold out. One of the employees said it was a hot item for companies to give out for the holidays. A quick search showed none available in the city and none available back home until January 2. Oh well, we'd wait. Figured we'd go pick a pair up at our local Apple Store this past weekend. Nope, still not available.
Ship time on the Apple Store is now January 17! Apple really hit a home run with these. I suspect we're going to see a huge bump in that "Other" category from these and people upgrading or first time purchases of Apple Watches. Now if only Spotify would develop an app, it would be the perfect watch for me.

Just did our annual Roth IRA buy .... looking for AAPL to have a blowout quarter on margins. I don't think Apple breaks down the iPhone sales by model any longer so I have no idea how well the X is or is not doing but there will be enough X sales to pad those margins ... IMHO.
Cramer disclaimer .... I realize he's not everyone's cup of tea:
Jim Cramer was very bullish on Apple yesterday and sees the stock heading higher in '18 , what he points to and I agree with is the steady growth in services that seems to go unnoticed by WS every quarter. At some point it will have to be recognized and the PE adjusted accordingly for a services company ..... making all of us very happy!
Cheers to the longs.

X seems to be outselling the 8 and 8 Plus (individually, not combined). 8 Plus is outselling the 8. Regardless of which iPhone people seem to be splurging for the memory upgrade. iPhone ASP is going to be incredible this quarter.
Conservatively, ASP of the three new iPhones is likely around $950. Lower cost iPhone 7 and SE seem to still be selling well, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see an ASP in the mid to high $800s.

Massive struggles in the $174-176 area, every time. Earnings will be needed to get it out of the range, either up or down.

Back from HOD to LOD to a dismal close at 172.23.
I had hopes today when I saw us crossing 174.50. And then the gradual tumble while other techs continued flying.
So it seems like the bottomline is this: Unless we break past 175 comfortably with some tax talk from TC, 170 is a given until Jan opEx.
