AAPL is doing fairly okay in pre-market. 177.90.
Seems like we will definitely see 178.xx today but will we stay above 178 is to be seen.

Just got a CNBC alert that the HomePod is available to order on Friday and arriving Feb 9th.
Guess my prediction of a HomePod ad during the Super Bowl is likely to happen.
Mark Gurman via Twitter also announcing info.

Just when AAPL was heading toward the 180 wall, JPM must've decided to buy calls on the cheap.
It's a known fact that it's very easy to break AAPL. At least temporarily. And MMs know this best.
Now we'll limp for some time.

This is basically the same as the Gordon Kelly story yesterday - “iPhone X is a failure! Apple is doomed.” Ugh!

So is this the usual . "Drag it down before earnings" that we had see for years?

The thing I love about these “50% réduction in orders” headlines is that they are absolutely meaningless without the other side of the equation. 50% of what? What was the order volume this quarter? Was it significantly different than last year? Was it 100% more than last year? Was it the same or less? We will know next week. iPhone X may have had a bigger, smaller or the same drop in orders as last year, but without the rest of the data that number is worse than meaningless.

The more they FUD us before earnings, the more of a chance we have for a positive reaction to earnings.

One benefit of these late earnings reports in my view is that the traders have had their fill of the tech and fang stock super high PE earnings gambling action. So that will leave them to focus their chips on after a good report. Heheh

Repost on Apple Cash, just in case you missed it. apple.news/AIaGZ45tiQ-q_CeLBxIoKPAApple News CMS has locked me out of the post, don't even ask me why, so while I can't edit it, note a couple of things aside from typos: - I goofed and switched the deferred tax categories (recognized and unrecognized), but the total cash tax due math under the old tax system should still be correct - someone made an argument that due to super-complicated stuff like transfer pricing and such, Apple may still use its current tax avoidance strategies under the territorial tax system to "escape" taxation in various countries regardless. We'll see. apple.news/AIaGZ45tiQ-q_CeLBxIoKPA
