I think there's some scare potential left, iPad. See you guys tomorrow at 9:30AM EST to see what's next.
If there's "good" news? IF it turns out to be good news, this drop is taking so many by surprise, resolution might be quite a bit quicker. We've already got the unusual volume. It's just that this is the Day 1.

And THAT'S the 61.8% mark right there. Okay, now, let's f-ing STOP HERE!!!! I'm going to be buying AAPL sub $500 if go there. I have zero confidence in the stock market right now, along with everyone else probably, so let's just have the capitulation now.

I feel like the shorts will press to get that Death Cross (if we haven't already gotten it)....then it is all self fulfilling....to where I have no idea. Pardon me while I throw up.

Under 540 close, just because. Heh.
I sold my AAPL common a little while ago today. Yep, the common I've been holding for years.
Just gotta make the next upside trades count...

Having closed at $538.81, does that mean the 61.8% has been pierced and thus we should target the target below?

When a fiscal cliff and a death cross are aligned, you end up with a cliff cross.
Cliff cross will make you
jump, jump

And THAT'S the 61.8% mark right there. Okay, now, let's f-ing STOP HERE!!!! I wish I could share your optimism Lovey. Man I hate this market. The pile on of negativity today was amazing. I still have never heard of arbitrarily raising the margin requirement with an advance notice. The VX APL shot up to 40+ today. That obviously means the fear is high. My fear is that 505 is coming soon. I knew the other side of the door, 572 was scary, I had no idea it could be this bad. 6.8% in one day is crazy.

I don't know why, but today's action reminded me of this quote from Step Brothers "This house is a prison!...on planet bullshit!... in the galaxy of this sucks camel dicks!" ;D

"Death spiral"? That's a little extreme. Negative feedback loop, yep. Give it another day of minus 35 points, then maybe I'd see something resembling a death spiral (looming for the entire market). A bit extreme, perhaps, but it's not pleasant.

Here's the end of Avi's MW article on November 19:
My cash is ready for us to hit 500. Of course I'll probably get screwed again and it will be this Friday when I can't do anything about it.

If iPhone 5 sales hit 45M, are we not looking at an easy 50M+ when you add in the 4 and 4S?

If iPhone 5 sales hit 45M, are we not looking at an easy 50M+ when you add in the 4 and 4S? Yes, that would be my takeaway also, but the knee jerk commentary is about 45 million iphones for the December quarter. What really got me mad was the last line, production MAY drop by 20%. WTF?

Maybe this is why… www.macrumors.com/2012/12/05/record-att-smartphone-sales-bode-well-for-iphone-in-4q-2012/"The wireless carrier is selling smartphones at a record pace -- 6.4 million already in the first two months of the quarter, according to Ralph de la Vega, CEO of AT&T's mobility arm. De la Vega, speaking at an investor conference today, said he now expects to sell 26 million smartphones this year, 1 million more than previously expected." That puts AT&T at about 9.6M smart phones for this quarter - only 200,000 more than last year. Translates to about 7.7M iPhones - only 2% growth YOY.

MARK: production MAY drop by 20%.Overall, I don't have a problem with the article. The last line simply suggests a bigger drop in NORMAL Apple sales (Q1 to Q2) decline than I would guess. THIS first quarter has ALL new products. That paragraph seems somewhat qualified and not substantiated. The author seems to have forgotten the Chinese New Year WITH ALL new products. From: HERE
